Didn't finish my comment about him running across fields and through the woods without breathing hard and then when he confronts the deputy and the girl and boy, he shoots the deputy and then bends over, out of breath and apparently his heart was giving him trouble. Come on now! The guy is supposed to have a bad heart and he runs and runs and runs on two episodes now and only at the critical moment his heart stops him from taking action?

Last night's episode was it for me. I can stand only so much stupidity coming from the writers, producers, and actors on a television series. As mentioned, not shooting out the tires - totally and undeniable stupid. Running across open country at full speed and when he confronts the deputy who everyone with an I.Q. above 25 knew already was a member of the cult and shoots her but doesn't at least TRY to shoot the tires is the work of totally inept and incompetent "writers" trying to maintain a story line that is already wearing thin.
Don't intend to waste another hour of my time on this series.
The only suspense left is just how stupid the next episode will be and how incompetent the FBI, local police, SWAT teams, and every other law enforcement agency can be portrayed.
This was by far the funniest episode of The Following. The way Hardy worked Emma, Paul and Jacob was absolutely hilarious! I'm dying for Jacob's back-story- in an interview Nico Tortorella teased that Jacob's past is very much driving his present actions. I knew from last episode that the cop was in on it, so not much of a surprise there but very glad Weston was wearing a vest. I cannot get enough of this show, Mondays are soon turning into my favorite day of the week.

@Dan: My thoughts exactly.
I love most of the episode. Hated the Claire part. I think Charlie will be the first one to break out from Joe's hand. I'd prefer that one of the trio died (Emma please!), but seeing they had a breakup was nice.
I hated the way Joe delivered his lines. Also, if the lawyer is smart, she should just fly away and never return, Joe doesn't get any followers here in let's say, Asia?
And congratulations Megan, for safely tucked in the hands of paramedic. Small detail but I love this payoff.

Paul was stabbed by Hardy, not shot.

@ Dan W Shooting at a moving object in the dark is not as easy as they make it appear on screen. The child was in the car; it was not safe to shoot in the direction of the car. Tires are small.

The one thing that really bothered me about tonights episode is when Emma is taking the boy away in the car, why doesn't Ryan at least shoot out one of the tires. That would make an escape much more difficult!

I can't wait to see how this Jacob and Paul thing goes now with Emma out of the picture. Honestly, I expected her to leave Paul, but Jacob? I guess love only goes to far with her.
