@huisclothes - not sure why you think Rigsby is beneath Grace. He is a very attractive man. A good guy. They do the same job, so are very compatible professionally. And they seemed to have real feelings for each other. And he's the only guy she's ever dated that hasn't been using her to get to Jane :-)
@KM is right the status of the show is going to come down to factors we don't know about as I ranted about earlier today. The Mentalist is only going to be on 9 pm this Sunday. Last season they had an episode on Friday night, the goal is to see how the show does in different time slots. But here's the problem: there doing this with a repeat episode so that tells you this is more about the Good Wife then TM. CBS is not going to upgrade TM to 9 and downgrade Good Wife to 10, that's just not going to happen and it makes zero sense. So this is about having TGW at 10 in the event they air a new show next year at 9. So no, this isn't particuarly good news for us. Alot of it is speculation on my part so dont freak out too much, but it's not a positive and the motive for it is entirely to see how TGW does in the 10pm slot in anticipation of next season(and if TGW is at 10 next yr, unless the Mentalist somehow gets moved to Friday night, that means its getting axed).

I agree, @ huisclothes. I believe TGW scores well with same demographic as Vegas and Blue Blood. Friday may be a better place for it, seeing as it is CBS's pet. Reading about TGW never intrigued any of us. The flawed tragic hero did. And, we've had a soft spot for Baker from his bit part in LA Confidential and for Tunney from Niagara Niagara.

@ Huisclothes,
Re The Job I have no idea we only watch The Mentalist here and end up spending the week discussing it the literary references and the Ptolemy universe. Is Jane's following his own moral course tipping the balance too far? Is Lisbon's more obvious willingness tipping her too far? Will Jane follow the classic tragic hero arc? ...

@km well, the good wife seems like a strange lead in to the mentalist. while tgw is a good show, i don't give a rat's winkle about any character in it. and if tv is about characters, who really cares if alicia florick decides to sleep with will again? or if her husband becomes governor? it's well-written and all but it doesn't have what brigitte bardot had. mentalist has that.

@huisclothes,
I've been following the 18-49 demographic score and CBS's most regular showing is highest score from 8-9 pm, lowest 9-10 pm, and rebound middle at 10-11 pm on Sunday night. This happens even with late starts due to football... I just wondered if CBS was considering flipping their lowest number generator The Good Wife with their middle performer The Mentalist? Just looking at the numbers and the loss of viewership at the 9:30 pm mark, makes it look like both the 18-49 demo crowd and general viewership are turning their sets off during The Good Wife and turning them back on for The Mentalist. TL;DR is TGW dragging TM's numbers down?

what's with the rigsby loves grace thing? that's got to pay off in some way. or is it just to have her presence (absence) felt in the show as she enjoys her computer course (maternity leave). what does grace want with him? she's beautiful. she's gotten way smarter and tougher. rigsby's beneath her. she can handle brett stiles, for god's sake. she needs a nebbish like wayne rigsby? or will this too go nowhere?

Huisclothes I'm with you on this one. I was just not impressed with this episode. This show has advanced way too much to have such a filler episode like this. The show looked and felt really different. The best thing about this eposode was the title. Because I'm such a fan I'll give them this one! This episode made me want to lay on the couch too! AND POUT! I would like to bite CBS in the EYE for their BS too! Now, I wait, SOME MORE and SOME MORE and.....WELL, NEVER MIND!

I think CBS has Mentalist on at 9:00 pm for only this week. That release is the only thing that comes up for 03-03-13.
Sad that TGW tied a Saturday Night Live repeat though.
9:00 FOX Family Guy 2.4/6
ABC Revenge 1.8/4 5.99
CBS The Good Wife 1.4/3
NBC Saturday Night Live in the 90s (9-11PM)- R 1.4/3
I still think renewal/cancelation will be determined by factors unknown to us.

let the nit-picking begin. why did the blonde girl keep twisting her hair? are there no actresses in hollywood capable of conveying stress without doing that? heavy-handed direction. embarrassing. i mean, awful.
so primed was i for the re-use of the museum having being meaningful, i also thought the guy who turned out to be the killer was the same actor played the second banana to the big deal hypnotist in russet potatoes. same kind of weasel face, right?

Interesting the time switch, huisclothes. Last week there was that announcement that The Mentalist was going to be on at 9:00 pm on 3rd March. I read rumors that the March switch was an error. But if 3rd of March 9:00 pm is on, then that would be two weeks at 9:00 pm. It makes me wonder a bit.
If you are a fan of The Job, then I believe it was cancelled today.

@waywardone..There weren't any clues as to who was the culprit, it is just when he appeared talking about finding a new moth that I said he was the guilty party. Maybe, I just had a "Jane" feeling of knowing. lol

@husiclothes. Thanks. I love your ability to riff off new plot twists and possibilities, but I am rather hesitant to invest in any particular direction. I can say I will be devastated if they kill off Jane/Lisbon or if rj turns out to be some nonentity that hasn't had a major role so far.
I do like your scenario of shaking up the whole dynamic now before any finale. That would rejuvenate a lot of interest.
