Matt Lanter Lands Male Lead on The CW's Oxygen

by at . Comments

90210 may be coming to an end.

But Matt Lanter is sticking around The CW.

Liam on the Catwalk

The actor has been cast as the male lead on Oxygen, a pilot based around nine aliens who have been stuck in an internment camp for a decade, only to be freed and integrated into a suburban high school on the premiere.

Lanter will portray Roman, the alien love interest of Aimee Teegarden's human character.

Oxygen will also star Malese Jow (The Vampire Diaries) and Grey Damon (Friday Night Lights) and appears to be a strong contender for a spot on the 2013-2014 schedule.

WHAT THE HELL?!?! Lanter is almost 30!?! he still looks like a kid! he has really good genes. anyways, I'm excited because im looking forward to his abs on my screen again!

@Jarrod of course they will get killed of like flies probably one in the pilot.
But maybe they won't know who is an alien or not. And introduce them throughout the show. From the cw upcoming show Oxygen is one of the betters. But not wOw, I really like the cast.

Still not interested in any of the pilots the CW has but I am a fan of these 3 so I may check it out!
Jarrod: I was going to make the Corporate Invaders joke! :)

@Spindae 2.o and @SoapJunk: I think the concept of 9 will probably diminish shortly, as they could probably get hunted and killed or half could be good and half could be bad and they go against each other? Though I agree the concept of 9 is big, with additional cast being humans, I'm sure how they'll be able to work it out.
If you read between the lines, it says "nine aliens who have been stuck in an internment camp for a decade, only to be freed and integrated into a suburban high school on the premiere." - premiere being the key word. To me, it implies that something will happen to at least 4-5 of them.

Yeah @spindae is right a groups of 3 would be more promising

Oxygen appears to be a promising show.

Perhaps he should have been cast as Corporate Invaders. ;)
But in all seriousness, I'm happy for the actor. 90210 being canceled the way it was would have made it difficult for the actors and crew to find jobs for pilot season. Hopefully AnnaLynne McCord is cast in a comedy pilot next.

Uhhhh nice catch! Should be interesting! I see this one getting a pick up cause I love the cast for now! :D
But I believe there are to many aliens! it's to much to introduce 9 right away! Maybe in groups of 3! :D
