George Lopez Sitcom to Air on FX

George Lopez is on his way back to the small screen.

The actor has signed on to star in an upcoming FX sitcom titled Saint George in which he stars as a recently divorced working-class Mexican-American who has become a successful entrepreneur. The main character is outlined as a man with a demanding ex-wife, an 11-year-old son and an overbearing mother.

Similar to the deal FX struck with Anger Management, the series will have a 10-episode run and, if it gets renewed, will then be picked up for an additional 90 episodes.

"I'm excited about my new show," Lopez said, "couldn't think a better group of people or better place to create than FX. ... Now to get ready ... Back to Pilates!"
