90210 Review: 9021-Over

at . Comments

This week we said goodbye to one of television's favorite zip codes. After an hour retrospective with the cast and crew of 90210, it was time for the series finale, "We All Fall Down."

Picking up right after last week's crazy cliffhanger, we dove right into the aftermath of the explosion at the theater.

Since Adrianna was finishing her act as the stage started shaking, she ended up trapped in the rubble. With relief efforts accounting for everyone else, Navid ran back in and scrambled under a very shaky infrastructure to rescue the love of his life. As they awaited help (and somehow had cell service) they talked about how to proceed when they finally got rescued. At first Adrianna wanted to take it slow, get it right... but after a gas leak that endangered their lives even further, they decided that this was it. They were all in. Navianna forever!

All hands were on deck helping with the relief effort, even if Naomi's motive was partially selfish. C'mon, it's Naomi, what'd you expect? She still get the job done! After throwing a Goo Goo Dolls concert to raise money and remedy her image, the show had to be cut short for emergency vehicles to deal with the gas leak.

Because Naomi was out the money, she agreed to a reputation damaging tell-all interview about the other Prince Harry for half a million. Then she donated all of that money to the Red Cross. Atta girl, Naomi.

As it turns out, Naomi's interview convinced the Prince that he needed to go to rehab. The Emperor was eternally grateful and now Jordan's momzilla owed Miss Naomi a favor. Jordan parlayed this - and voila! - Naomi got her happy ending.

Not everybody got the same, but everybody did feel the power of friendship. Silver received bad news regarding her scans. She has cancer. She picked up a bottle of prescription pills and considered going down that route, but Dixon shed a little light when he sat down to talk to her about adoption. By the way, that was probably my favorite scene of the finale. I love Dixon and I love that he was able to be there to support Silver.

You reach deeper until you can find the strength. That’s all life is, one big fight after another. | permalink

I also teared up a little when Annie hugged Dixon goodbye before Paris. With other ends tied up, Annie, Naomi and Jordan gassed up the private jet to head to Washington D.C. and then France. As Annie looked miserable rolling her suitcase on the jetway, Liam was racing to the airport. He finally read the ending of her book and realized that they were meant for each other.

In a totally risky, corny, but also incredibly romantic move, Liam rode up alongside the plane until he caught Annie's attention. Seriously I think the last time I saw that move was with Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar. Anyway, Annie stopped the plane. Liam hopped off the bike, gave his speech - and got down on one knee. I guess Annie was wrong when she said life wasn't like her book and she couldn't get a happy ending.

Lannie fans, are you satisfied?

Considering how little time the writers had to turn a season finale into a series finale, I enjoyed the last episode of the second coming of 90210. What about all of you? What was your favorite part? What would you have changed? Hit the comments and take a little Naomi Clark advice for the road:

I've there's one thing I've learned, it's that it's never over. It's only just beginning

They honestly could have just added a minute or two of a flash forward and given a true closure to where everyone was in their life. Such as Annie/Liam happily married, Navid/Adrianna happily married, Silver/Dixon together with her fighting cancer w/ adopted child. Naomi should have totally ended up with Max.

You are so right they should have at least given them a longer season if they were ending the show they should have known people were going to think it was rushed.

I love this show it's sad to see it go. I think the episode was good and ended well especially with anne and liam. I just hate how you can tell they rushed the story lines to the finish they should have given the show a short season like gossip girl to end it out the show really deserved a very well thought out GoodBye! I really wanted to see more Lannie moments before they ended the show :(

I absolutely love this Show.
I have followed it from the beginning and love how all the couples from the first season are ending up together (Lannie, Dixon&Silver, Adrianna&Navid) I am a bit dissapointed Naomi didn't end up with max but hell Lannie totally made up for that.

Well a lot happened it the last hour! I really wish we had a shortened final season in the fall to have slowed things down a bit and also to wrap up the storylines for Silver: will she beat cancer, adopt a child and is she still with Mark? Same with Dixon, does he become a big time music producer?
I am happy that Liam and Annie got engaged but it was rushed.
Ade and Navid together and Naomi seems to have finally seems to have found a lasting relationship.
I wish the CW at least would have told them they were cancelled mid season so that we could have not been so rushed, like I said a short season would have been great but even a 2 hour finale (not the retrospective)would have been better than nothing, then the could have done a flash forward.

After spending all season on the baby storyline, I'm very disappointed we didn't even get to see silver with a baby in the future. I know it was written as a season finale, but they had plenty of time to make some changes or add a flash forward. They could have cut back some of the Adrianna and Navid scenes. Yes they were good scenes, but they took up the majority of the show. And I consider them to be more so background characters on the show. So that seemed like time wasted. And to not even know what happens with her cancer fight? Ridiculous. And people who watched glee made a big deal about Blaine wanting to propose to Kurt when they're not technically together anymore, but that's the same story with Annie and Liam… they haven't been together in forever and now they're engaged? They really should have just done the flash forward.

Still wish The CW gave an additional episode to 23 or even 24, seeing as how abrupt everything was.
Still, I am happy with the two endgame couples (Liam and Annie, and Adrianna and Navid) happening. The were probably the two biggest ships (aside from Max and Naomi, WHO should have ended up together in my opinion). I also wished for Dixon and Silver to at least pick-up with their relationship, however, with the ending and how much screen time these two shared, I'm pretty positive that their futures will bring them together in the end.
Overall, I'm glad they did what they could with what they had and tried to satisfy everyone the way they could. Was better than I expected. Hanging on out there for a TV movie!

ok so the ending was ambigious which is fine because it meant the following: navid and ade finally got their family
dixon n silver can finally be together and adopt a family, i think she'll overcome the cancer but will have to go through a term of chemo
lannie finally although i am not gonna lie, the writeres gave me more life when naomi and liam were holding each other at the relief..... still say they suited sigh....
glad naomi got to be happy, only character i cared for since day 1 tbh..... other than that wished there was a 5 year ff but o well least it ended with the right coupling.

So... Naomi didn't kill everyone and rode off into the night with Liam did she?
Shame. Would've defiantly made a better ending than this one..

i think the finale was amazing.
i have watched every show and im completely gutted,
i hope they can do another season as will be brilliant to see if silver beats cancer and how liam and annies life plans out together. REALLY WOULD LIKE THERE TO BE ANOTHER SEASON!!! One of the best tv shows! all the good ones are ending ONE TREE HILL ended and now 90210.
very sad and think they should reconsider doing another season.

90210 Season 5 Episode 23 Quotes

Ironically people don't want a wild party girl planning their party.

I would love nothing more than a chance to have a relationship to be able to hold hands, jump on a private jet to Cabo like normal people.
