Could you imagine Law & Order: SVU without Mariska Hargitay? No?
Good. You won't have to.
The actress confirmed via Twitter today that she has signed a contract with the NBC drama to return in the fall, writing simply:
"Happy weekend. It's official. Season 15 -- I'LL BE BACK!"
Hargitay is television's highest-paid actress, but her status remained unclear when NBC renewed the series a couple weeks ago. Hence the scene that closed Season 14 last Wednesday, when the credits rolled immediately after a gun was pointed at Olivia's head.
Viewers can now breathe a sigh of spoiled relief, however: the beloved detective will live.
