The girl will officially meet the world in 2014.

With anticipation and speculating running wild over the past couple months, Disney Channel officially ordered this Boy Meets World spinoff to series today.

It will star Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews,  the daughter of Cory and Topanga (a returning Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel) and premiere in 2014.

“Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular," said producer Michael Jacobs in a statement.

Look for the sitcom to be set in New York City and center around Riley and Maya, two seventh-graders who embark on "an unforgettable middle school experience," according to the network synopsis. It adds:

"Their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted slightly under the watchful eyes of Riley’s dad who’s also a faculty member — and their new History teacher — and Riley’s mom who owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding."
