T Bone Burnett Out as Nashville Music Producer

Nashville Season 2 will kick off this fall minus one key player.

T Bone Burnett won’t return as executive music producer.

The in-demand music producer, who’s also married to Nashville creator and executive producer Callie Khouri, never intended to stay past the ABC show’s first season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Buddy Miller, Burnett’s second-in-command, will take over.

“We’re going to do Nashville‘s second season with Buddy and some of the other producers we worked with,” Khouri said, citing Burnett's “overwhelming” schedule which includes film work and producing.

“T Bone set the gold standard for the show,” she added. “His commitment to the quality of the music, the sound for the characters and all of that was something that we were very lucky to get him for.”

Indeed. Check out our Nashville music section and see!

Joyeful

I'm sad that T-Bone is leaving, but I'm glad that the person taking over for him is at least in his camp, and will hopefully keep the music up at the same standard. AND I hope they bring some more focus back to the music in the next season.
