Breaking Bad Spinoff: Full Speed Ahead!

As fans gear up for the final eight episode of Breaking Bad Season 5, and therefore the final eight episode of Breaking Bad as a series, creator Vince Gilligan is giving them a reason to hope that at least one character will be seen again after the concluding run is over.

A Saul Goodman-based spinoff is closer than ever to a reality.

"It's not a done deal yet, but it's definitely something we're full speed ahead on trying to get going," Gilligan tells The Wrap.

Just how will the series be set up? What will be the tone? The length?

"There's a way to make it a half-hour show and make it a little more - I don’t want to say sitcom-y, but a little more traditionally half-hour comedic," the producer said. "Or there's a way to do it where it fits more snuggly in with the Breaking Bad universe, in which it's an hour-long show.

"As you can imagine with Saul Goodman as a character, a show like that would have to have plenty of humor to it. But also because he works for some pretty scary clientele sometimes, there'd be a bit of drama in it as well. We're trying to nail that down. As of yet, we haven't completely figured that out ourselves."

Gilligan also said he isn't sure if the show would be a prequel or a sequel... but then hushed up because a sequel would confirm Saul survives whatever craziness lies ahead on Breaking Bad.

But armed with this information, would you watch a Breaking Bad spinoff?
