Carla Gugino Lands Lead Female Role in M. Night Shyamalan Series

Carla Gugino is headed to Wayward Pines.

The actress (Justified, Political Animals) will star opposite Matt Dillon and Melissa Leo in the limited run series, which is set for 10 episodes in 2014.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will portray Kate Hewson, the ex-Secret Service partner of Dillon's agent, who arrives in the titular town (where Kate lives) to search for two missing colleagues.

Wayward Pines is based on a novel by the same name and is being hyped in the vein of Twin Peaks.

Look for Dillon's character to run into a series of obstacles and mysteries in his attempt to uncover the truth about those who went missing, while wondering if he will ever leave Wayward Pines alive.

Fox has not yet set a series premiere date.
