Donald Glover to Merely Recur on Community Season 5

Troy and Abed in the... occasional morning?

Due to a desire to further his musical career as Childish Gambino - a seriously talented rapper - Donald Glover and Community have come to an agreement in which the actor will only appear in five of the 13 episodes on tap for Season 5.

Vulture broke this sad casting news, which comes a few weeks after Dan Harmon confirmed that he was returning as showrunner to the sitcom he created.

No word yet on how Troy's frequent absence will be explained (or who will break the news to Abed), but expect an update when Community hits Comic-Con for a panel discussion on Sunday, July 21.
