James Franco to Play Doctor on The Mindy Project

He's played a hiker, a wizard and, most recently, a version of himself.
But James Franco has now signed on for a two-episode arc on Season 2 of The Mindy Project, Fox confirmed today.
He will appear on the sitcom as Dr. Paul Leotard, a charismatic physician who actually replaces Mindy at her practice when she leaves for Haiti on a volunteer mission.
Look for Franco's character to be a former model whose career path was changed forever when he stepped off a runway and was saved by a pregnant woman.
On the small screen, Franco got his major break in Freaks and Geeks and also played Liz Lemon's boyfriend on an episode of 30 Rock.
He will make his Mindy Project debut on the September 24 season premiere.
