by at . Comments

Lea Michele has spoken out for the first time since Cory Monteith tragically died of a heroin overdose on July 13.

In a short statement posted on Twitter, the actress expresses her gratitude for fan support and also mentioned her late boyfriend/costar directly, writing:

"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart."

She included the following photo with the message:

The cast of Glee came together for a private memorial last Thursday, while Ryan Murphy has revealed how the show will handle Monteith's death.

Look for the character of Finn to be killed off and for the third episode of Glee Season 5 to address this passing. The series will then go on hiatus for a few weeks (for the Major League Baseball Playoffs) and return after viewers and crew members have had time to process everything.

Glee SHOCKER: Chris Colfer Departs Series

Chris Colfer has been let go from Glee. The actor made this shocking announcement himself via Twitter.

@damian well what can we do but mourn and move on

This is seriously heartbreaking. My heart breaks for Lea, and Cory was my FAVORITE actor in Glee. I loved Finn, and based my reality love life off of that show and him. There is no point for the show without Cory. It is sad, but so true.

@Damian. I agree. Without Finn/Cory there is no Glee. I have no desire for Lima. Rachel has her Broadway hopes as of now and that is all but for the dynamics of what Glee started with and with the stories I want to watch, they are gone now.

Glee is dead, It's a matter of time.
