NCIS Shocker: Cote de Pablo to Depart Series

by at . Comments

The first bombshell of NCIS Season 11 has taken place months before the season premiere:

Cote de Pablo announced today that she will depart the highest-rated show on television this fall.

Pretty Ziva

“I’ve had 8 great years with NCIS and Ziva David," the actress said in a statement.

"I have huge respect and affection for Mark, Gary, Michael, David, Rocky, Pauley, Brian, Sean, all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.”

de Pablo's contract ran out at the conclusion of Season 10, but she will appear in the September 24 opener (titled "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot") in order to wrap up her character's story.

“We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David," said CBS in a statement.

"Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.”

The actress joined NCIS in Season 3, following the exit of Sasha Alexander. She will be greatly missed by TV Fanatic and fans everywhere.

Production on Season 11 will soon get underway.

I am just glad that onces Ziva leave all the shipper drama will be gone I swaer you shipper are the reason I stop watching cop shows because you ALWAYS have to get what you want people bitch and moun about Tony acting like a fart boy and immature because he always talks about sex yet its okay for the shipper to want to basic trun NCIS into one big porno movie.

I have thought of something. If the character of Ziva leaves the show, tiva will have happened during the time Tony and Ziva were jobless. With no professional ties during four months, they are not friends and coworkers anymore.I am afraid the writers will give the charater of Ziva a fatal issue, like for Kate. The positive thing would be tiva.

@ l'empress Which one is Ruby?

I wonder if some of those commenters really watch the show; it doesn't sound like the one I watch. Ziva was always one of my favorite characters, and I'll be sorry to see her go. (She was miles ahead of some of the other female agents they tried out.) Kate died, and Paula Cassiday died. Let's not kill another one. For a replacement...right now, I'd like to see Ruby in there. A clever girl, and one whose interest is McGee, not DiNozzo.

Hey for all of you broken hearted Tiva fans out there start watching "Castle" reruns on TNT before season 6 starts. Just started watching this show in early December but it quickly became a favorite. The chemistry between Nathan Fillion & Stana Katic is awesome!

Michael, I think you screwed the pooch with that remark. The term "glass ceiling" does not apply in this case and is certainly not one that is associated with NCIS.

I can finally see NCIS breaking the glass ceiling with Ziva leaving

I think the producers and the writers knew Cote was not going to resign for season 11. @Jarod You are right, I for one will not be watching to show after Ziva leaves for the last time, lets hope the writers don't kill Ziva, would like to see her come back as a guest for the final show of the final season. But got a feeling they will kill off the character of Ziva.

With Cote de Pablo departure, the show will loose viewers.
During the time Tony and Ziva were jobless, they will be a couple when the show will return. She will be in the early episodes and then she will go.
The viewers will find a great end. With cote's departure, we will have tiva.
I won't see the show anymore. Without Ziva it will never be the same.

NCIS Season 11 Episode 1 Quotes

I'm positive that NCIS is being set up. Sending you out here was not about Lieutenant McBride. It was about separating you from your team.
