The Vampire Diaries: Casting for a Vengeful Ex

As the finale of The Vampire Diaries Season 4 made clear, Stefan Salvatore has enough to worry about these days.
The guy was just thrown into the water while trapped inside a safe.
But - SPOILER ALERT!!! - it appears as if Stefan will survive this fall... although a new casting scoop from TV Guide reveals that perhaps he'll be better off remaining locked up.
The CW drama is reportedly seeking an actress to come on board as a blood sucker named Tessa. She will be an ex-girlfriend of Stefan's and she will be seeking vengeance, having spent hundreds of years hunting for the Salvatores.
Look for Tessa to steal Damon's daylight ring and to cause quite a few problems in general for the brothers.
The Vampire Diaries Season 5 opens on October 10 and the series recently cast two other new roles:
- Olga Fonda will portray a mysterious Russian named Nadia.
- Kendrick Sampson will play a Whitemore upperclassman who gets close to Caroline.
UPDATE: Janina Gavankar has been cast in this role.
