ABC has given fans their first official look at Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The wildly anticipated series - whose pilot was written and directed by Joss Whedon and which airs on September 24th - stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge in the main, investigative roles.

Gregg, of course, has generated the most buzz for his role, considering Agent Coulston was killed off in The Avengers.

But the actor said he spoke to Whedon about how and why the character will be revived and hung up "very deeply on board" with the project.

So, just how is Agent Coulston alive and back in charge? That storyline “will be something of a drawn-out explanation,” Whedon told reporters yesterday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
