Both good and bad times are ahead for Victoria on Revenge Season 3.

According to Madeleine Stowe, the September 29 premiere will include a multi-month time jump - and when we next see this Hamptons matriarch, she will have embraced her long-lost son, played by Justin Hartley.

"She's not trying to make him crazy, but she really wants to have a good clean honest relationship," Stowe tells E! News of the offspring from a fling she had at the age of 15. "But of course this is Revenge, so something terrible is going to happen."

And we wouldn't have it any other way.

As for the character of Patrick?

"He deeply deeply loves his mother and will do anything to take her side," Stowe says, teasing of a twist ahead: "I've been given hints and it's quite dark."

Revenge Season 3 kicks off late next month, with ABC President Paul Lee saying this week that new showrunner Sunil Nayar will bring to viewers "a slightly less complicated" version of the drama. In other words: So long, Initiative!
