Great finale!!! I loved Will's proposal and the quote "you own me" but the chemistry between Mac and Will was lost in that kiss(IMO)!Overall great season and I too am glad the end was so upbeat; it could have been corny but I thought it was handled well. Note to reviewer: not all the charaters on the bidding page were from musicals; Sweet Bird of Youth is not a musical, it is about a ruthless journalist (or possibly gossip columnist).
OMG was that a great finale. Loved when Mac finally said the magic words and she said yes. Waited forever for him to realize he would never love anyone the way he loves her. Don and Sloan...a promising duo...he is perfect for her and she is so perfect for him. Don't quite know where Maggie is headed or Jim for that matter and I am one who likes Jim...always have. Great show but like the rest of you...only 9...couldn't we have at least 10?
Loved it!! I felt like we finally got some of the 'Season 1' feel back - the levity, humor, triumphant moments, and yes, a little bit of cheesiness (in a good way!) - after most of this season being mainly just depressing and dark. I was shocked by Will's proposal - I had a feeling he would at least show Mack the ring and tell her he didn't return it and they'd realize they were still in love, I definitely did not see a proposal coming! I absolutely agree that Don has become my favorite character, I just wish he'd had more screen time this season. And the scene with Sloan was the highlight of the ep. I personally think Jim's Skype relationship with Hailie is kind of lame - I don't really get the point. But overall, such a a great ep. In a season that had me missing the old 'format', I'm now left wanting more!!!
BRAVO for capturing the joy of the finale and ours as we watched the close of this terrific season. Kudos to Sorkin, the cast and to you Ms. Orlando . I, too, wish there were more episodes, but will cheerfully trade quality for quantity as this production so masterfully does. Hope there is a season three, but happy they left us where they have. So little lifts us up these days--thank you!
WOW!! What an ep, what an ending!! It literally couldn't have been better!! I agree with Wendi - the best season finalte for any show on TV ever, period. I did fist pumps, and jumped for joy - the best feel-good from TV ever! Jim's stock went up a bit on my scale with his encounter with Lisa - going to bat for Maggie and setting things straight with Lisa!! I also am VERY unhappy with the shortened season (even from the first with only 10 eps), this season had only 9 episodes - what is with that!!?? I feel cheated - my only complaint for the season. LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!! Can't wait for next summer - but want more eps.
The best season finale for any show on TV ever, period. While I didn't cry for joy I did text some friends about breaking out the champagne. Reese and Charlie were hilarious and Jane Fonda is spot on for her part. My only regret is there are so few shows during its short run in the summer. Come on HBO, can't we have at least five or six more episodes a year?
