The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Poster: Rippling and Roaring

by at . Comments

The CW has released the first official poster for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 and, simply put, it's totally awesome.

The image, first posted by TV Guide, depicts both Elena and Katherine. It also gives us a look at a muscle-bound Paul Wesley as Silas, with what we can only presume is an image of Stefan reflected in the water.

There's Ian Somerhalder in a mostly transparent top... a returning Tyler standing near Caroline... Bonnie in the background with Jeremy kneeling in front of his ghostly girlfriend … and Matt, half shirtless, seemingly caught between two worlds.

Stare for as long as you'd like and prepare for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 premiere on October 3.

Actually, Matt died last season. Damon snapped his neck to get Elena to turn her humanity back on, BUT he had Jeremy's ring on so he came back to life.

Poor Matt, he's the only one who hasn't died...

Spindae 2o

The poster looks more than great. It is over the top. My sudden guess with all this big story upcoming for Matt could he be a Salvatore bastard? Melinda Clark played a pretty "slutty" mom. he is blond and the salvatore line is a witch line as well so he could have that power within himself. He could save Bonnie. . .

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
