FX Confirms: Justified to Conclude After Season 6
Matt Richenthal at .FX Networks CEO John Landgraf made the sad rumors into a reality today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour:
Justified will conclude after six seasons.
The executive said the decision was made by the showrunner Graham Yost and star Timothy Olyphant, much to his chagrin.
“We talked about it a year ago and they felt that the arc of the show and what they had to say would be served by six seasons instead of seven and I regretfully accepted their decision,” Landgraf said.
Most successful dramas on FX - The Shield, Sons of Anarchy - do make it through seven seasons, but credit Yost and Olyphant for sticking to their artistic integrity over milking the series for more money.
In other FX news from today, the network announced that Michael Cera has been cast along with actor John Hawkes in a comedy pilot titled How And Why, while Zach Galifianakis will star in a sitcom pilot co-written by with Louis C.K.
