Revenge Review: Game Changer

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Revenge fans, consider the game changed after tonight!

In an onstallment reminiscent of the high drama of Revenge season 1, "Endurance" altered the methods of Emily's revenge.

Revenge Season 3 Episode 12 was one epic hour of television.

Jack Slugs Daniel

Let's start with that moment right up there, shall we?

Jack punching Daniel in the face was the highlight of my evening.

AHHH! Go, Jack, go! I actually raised my fist and gave out a little "yessssss!!!" and my husband looked at me like I'd lost my mind. And hey, maybe I have just a little bit.

But Daniel Grayson is such a whiny little jerk that watching him get punched in the face was amazing. That Jack was the one to do it only made it that much better. I would like a gif of that punch so I could watch it over and over again.

We learned quite a few things tonight.

First of all, Sara didn't actually try to kill herself. She just got drunk in the bathtub and nearly drowned. Not that I like the character at all or feel like Daniel needs even a smidge of stolen happiness with her given his current jerkface behavior... but the idea that she would kill herself because the guy she spent three years hating was getting married was more than a little farfetched. I'm glad we got an explanation about that.

Niko is Takeda's daughter. That explains how she met Aiden and how she's so good at the vendetta game and why we're not sure if we can trust her or want to trust her. She plans to avenge her father's death, which means Aiden better watch out since he's the one who killed Takeda.

I think Niko can take him. Hell and fury and women and all.

Finally, Nolan is really good at the Revengenda thing.

Once Emily was moved to Grayson manor, their communication was even more restricted than it was when she was at the hospital. So he devised a plan where Jack would visit and Carl would give Emily a stuffed Golden Retriever puppy as both a throwback to their childhood and a way to sneak in a walkie-talkie so that Nolan could monitor things for Emily.

That allowed Nolan to switch out the contents of the Infinity box before Patrick stole it - after knocking Nolan out with a piece of firewood! - so that Emily's identity would still be in tact. Score for Nolan!

Now the Graysons just think Emily's a grifter there to con her way into their family and she's ready to play along with them until she gets what she came for, which is their demise.

She was ready to walk away from her revengenda, but the news that she can no longer have children (which I suspect isn't actually true and is a ruse Victoria's playing as payback for the fake pregnancy) has spurned Emily to take further action and carry out her plan.

There are going to be some FIRE.WORKS in coming weeks!

There's also going to be a shift where Emily will turn to Jack and eventually the two will end up together. The writing is all over the screen for it.

Going back to that stuffed dog for a second, it was an incredibly symbolic move going all the way back to their childhood when Amanda left her dog with Jack and the dog remembered her when she returned to the Hamptons.

Secondly, Emily's comment about how one day she might have a family of her own while holding Carl and then finding out that she can't have children of her own (supposedly) is practically telegraphing the fact that she'll eventually be raising Carl as her own, likely resuming the name Amanda Clarke (which somehow Jack will be totally okay with because this is television).

Margaux listening to Jack and that choice costing her money and then whatever Conrad decided to do with the magazine behind her back will somehow come back around to Jack and Margaux will end things with him.

And since Emily ended things with Aiden tonight, for no clear reason other than she just did, there's a big set-up for Jack and Emily to get together. Now we just need to place our bets on when it's going to happen.

Because it's going to happen.

It doesn't even matter if it makes sense to us that she was 8 and he was 12 or however old they supposedly were when David Clarke was framed and she left. (Why did they ever mention concrete ages in the first place?!) Jack and Emily will happen. Mark my words.

What did you think of Revenge Season 3 Episode 12? Do you love the new angle Emily's taking with her revengenda? Did Revenge just step up its game tonight?

how much would you bet that emily will somehow end up pregnant? Victoria lied to her and when she finally sleeps with one of her men (Daniel, Aiden or Jack) she will end up pregnant. I'm sure of it

great episode! Except the part of Emily suddenly braking up with Aiden and he just walking away... No way I could ever root for Emily and Jack, they were kids and nothing has happened as adults to make them have any feelings. And Sara is sooo boring and the storyline so unbelievable. She hated Daniel for such a long time and it took her 5 seconds to forget all about that? And Daniel felt so guilty and now nothing? Not to mention that Daniel used to love Emily that changed real quick too... Revenge part is back to amazing, just crappy love stuff I wish would be thrown away...

I couldn't agree with you more. About the Sarah storyline and Aiden& Emily.

Of course it changed quick! Find out the person you loved, everything has been a lie! I certainly wouldn't just roll over and allow it

This episode was great! But after all her own revenging and what not, I don't understand why Emily is so quick to believe Victoria about not being able to have kids. You'd think she'd want her own proof. But I must say, I was wondering how they were going to handle this, and I love the direction this is taking. It will be fun to watch her and Daniel hating each other while remaining a part of this loveless marriage. And I can't wait for Jack and Emily to happen now that he's finally gotten more interesting. I don't care about Aiden anymore. He can just leave the show. He's of no use now. Great episode!

This was an amazing episode, I must say that. But I'm really not looking forward to where it's headed next.

I was wondering if Patrick carried out the robbery of the infinity box because he worried that anyone Victoria sent might kill Nolan…just thinking.

WOW! That's all I can say. I honeslty don't know how the writers keep throwing twists and turns in there and make it work, it's insant but awesome. I was wondering what was going to happen to make Emily come back to the Revenge and bravo to Victoria to upping her game and saying she couldn't have kids (true or not). I hate that everyone says Emily has and is like Victoria. She's nothing like Victoria, Emily has reasons for acting and doing what she is doing, Victoria is just a vicious souless bitch. I am hoping for Emily and Jack now, i have wanted them together all along so now that Aiden is gone the feelings for Jack will come back and hoping they end up together.

Wow a lot in one episode, nice to bringing to the show, so Aiden left ,hookedup with her promised to come back to her ,but helping Emily ,he having Niko ,was all over blaming Jack ,who hated Emily ,who didn't want anything to do with her ,so Emily took Aiden bck to keep him in her side and protect Jack and now she left him because she can give him a family or a future or just she doesn't loves him ,I always had Aiden as a good opcion for her , the only one probably ,he Knows her like no one does,he undestands her but he sometimes shows isn't the right one, now Niko sure will find out Aiden is who killed takeda

I'm still hoping for an Emily/Nolan hookup.

Whathappened

More and more I cannot stand this show and it's writers It's one thing to make the main "heroine" do absolutely deplorable things to people who simply have the last name she despises, and who had nothing to do with her father's demise, yet when these same people find out what she's done and lash out suddenly they're the villain that's supposed to be hated and I'm to feel sympathy for the heroine... NO! NO NO NO NO NO! I do not blame Daniel for his actions one bit, lied too consistently and deceived! I would lash out too! I can't stand Emily Thorne, I can't stand Jack Porter. I'm glad Declan died and I'm glad the two have experienced so much pain, here's to them feeling a ton more in their sick, unhappy life together. Show has gone to the dogs

you must be a complete moron for thinking that - Or you could be too stupid to grasp the actually storyline for this show. You do realize that Daniel has shoot two people by now and he his a major dimwit

Whathappened
@ Jonas

And Emily has done what?!
Countless amount of innocents indirectly killed/ or sent to jail because of her scheming! He shot Aiden because he was under the impression Aiden was a terrorist, a fact perpetuated by everyone around him including Emily! He shot Emily because she has been LYING to his face since the very beginning! No I'm not a moron I'm sane! Unlike you! And 2 wrongs don't make a right!

I agree completely. Danny boy has been Emily's whipping boy for being the kid of the parents who screwed up her life. It's no wonder he's grown more and more sick of her and her antics. Anyone in their right mind would.

I don't know if you remember that, but Daniel made a conscious choice back in Season 1, to destroy evidence that Emily needed to restore her father's reputation. In doing so, he became fair game for any revengenda. He does deserve what's happening to him

Whathappened
@ Didine34790

Why did anyone expect Daniel to do anything back in S1 All he cared about was Emily. To him, David and Amanda Clark was in the past, something he had nothing to do with If Emily had told him the whole truth it would've been a different story. But she's a sociopath and much too simple of an option for her

@skoobie79 because what his parent did was wrong, and coming forward was the right thing to do, and yet his moral compass was completely screwed up then, now there's no more compass, it's gone!

@ Didine34790

He doesn't KNOW she is David Clarke's daughter. Why would he unnecessarily risk his family's reputation for nothing? He'd have been a BAD guy if he'd KNOWN the (then) love of his life was David Clarke's daughter and STILL ruined the evidence. And the Daniel he was then, he probably wouldn't have.

Revenge Season 3 Episode 12 Quotes

[to Aiden] Hate is a lot like love. You can't force it. You can't fight it. You just have to embrace it when it comes along.

Daniel: You think you know everything, don't you?
Jack: Yeah, I do. Now pick yourself up and get the hell out of my bar.
