The Young and the Restless Fans to Protest Michael Muhney Firing

The Young and the Restless fans are about to prove to CBS what being angry and restless is truly all about.

Still reeling from the firing of Michael Muhney, a group of Facebook followers have pooled together $785 for a banner that will soon be unspooled over CBS Studios in Los Angeles. It will read:

"NO ADAM NEWBIE, JUST MICHAEL MUHNEY."

This, of course, is a reference to Muhney's ousting and the planned recasting of Adam Newman.

Muhney played that role for nearly five years, but was dismissed by producers in late December.

According to TMZ, he was let go because co-star Hunter King alleges he groped her breasts on two separate occasions, the latest in a long line of reported on-set harassment by the veteran actor.

This claim is unsubstantiated at the moment, but Muhney did tell HuffPo's Canada TV soon after his firing that "sometimes I've walked around with a big backpack of hubris."

The star's final episode will air on January 30.
