NCIS Photo Preview: Dodging a Bullet

by at .  Updated at . Comments

You think the Sochi Olympics are exciting? Consider what NCIS has in store for its upcoming return...

Look for the tea to dodge a bullet when a stolen U.S.M.C shipment turns out to be filled with faulty bulletproof vests on the February 25 installment, " Bulletproof," forcing Gibbs and company to answer a pressing question:

Can they make sure these items don't make it to soldiers overseas?

NCIS Season 11 Episode 15 is also Ellie Bishop's first case as an official probie. How will Tony, Tim, Abby and the rest of the team adjust to their newest member?

Check out these photos for "Bulletproof" and keep in mind: you can always watch NCIS online right here at TV Fanatic.

Gibbs and Bishop
Gibbs has been pulling Bishop into quite a few interviews and interrogations since she arrived at NCIS. "Bulletproof" airs on Tuesday, Feb. 25th on CBS.

While I agree guest that there was a huge void created at the beginning of the season, it was not the writers fault. What is amazing is that we've stayed on as fans, despite reading so much of the stuff spewed forth in the Ziva wars, on both sides. That being said, I'm now looking forward to the show settling down into a rhythm, Bishop was introduced to us through the Parsa story, he was her quarry, that's over, now she steps back to a different status. She will be present but not the one among the rest. When a show is as mature as NCIS is in its broadcast years how else could they intro her.

Having watched the rerun last night, I've realized how much better the show was when it was just Gibbs, Tony, and McGee.

The trio could carry the show forward with occasional guest appearances from Borin, Kate's sister, Tony's dad, etc, don't you think? I really like it when Tony is given the opportunity to shine, he can be smart, tough and/or vulnerable and pull it all off effortlessly.

@ Sally

I agree with that, but what I was referring to was the time between Ziva's departure and Bishop's introduction.

I understand now and yes, I agree also.

Sally, I do want Ziva to come back. What I'm saying is that the threesome is better than the three of them with Bishop.

@ PatrickC

Patrick, I wish Ziva would come back, you may or may not agree. But I do think we agree that Bishop has been so very wrong for the show. The writers just went off the tracks in their creation of the character. No disrespect to the actress, just the ill-conceived notion of what she should be. Now she is beyond redemption.

So true its amazing how far they were held back for 8 year going to be nice to see them again with the new girl

I'm referring to between Ziva's departure and Bishop's introduction. I will always prefer Ziva to Bishop.

I wont glad she gone The writers just went off the tracks in their creation of the Perfect Ziva Dumbass tony storyline

The problem is that they are introducing Bishop in a way that is very different to the way they introduced Kate or Ziva. After the big entrance and the understanding of what they could do. Things slacked off and each actor got their episode so that another one could have the time off. That does not seem to be happening here. They are pushing her in the hope that she will push the ratings. There is no relationship here and sometimes while the vulnerability is there it seems to go nowhere except when Gibbs is playing daddy once more.

@ Jean

How is that a problem if they introduce her just like Ziva or kate you guys would be calling her a ripoff

Avatar
@ Michael

Michael, you need to accept that some of us are not on board with this character. Please don't take it personally. We all have a right to our opinion.

Avatar
@ Sally

That fine just as long as you guys accepted not everyone see Ziva as a God and are happy she gone

@ Sally

Well put, Sally.

I agree. The whole dad thing bothers me, too. He never called Kate kid. And while you could feel his parental instincts when it came to protecting his team, it took years for Gibbs to call Ziva kid. The whole vibe with Abby was different and everyone knew she was Gibbs favorite. But now, after a couple of months, Gibbs is calling Bishop kid? I just don't understand the rush to cement Bishop's place on the team. It just baffles me.

Avatar

I don't know what the writers could do now to redeem Bishop. I would like for Tony and Gibbs to grow a pair and become the competent agents they used to be. Say what you want about Ziva, but Gibbs was always reeling her in and keeping her in line. When she first joined the team, he took away all her weapons and often left her behind in the office. When she supposedly killed the kid in the elevator Gibbs wouldn't let her participate in the investigation. And when he found out about Ari he yelled at her and said Vance should decide if she could be on the team. He also left her on the tarmac in Israel when she asked him to choose. He also interrogated her about the death of Daniel Cryer. Tony always had a sly comment for her. After she almost got killed he asked her if she was still crazy. When her father died Tony yelled at her and told her it was his job to keep her safe. She also wasn't allowed in on that investigation. However, now with Bishop, she is allowed to question everything Gibbs does. She lied to himaabout her connection to a terrorist and he says nothing. Instead he lets her interrogate him that results in her being overpowered and two marines being killed. Was there a consequence? No, unless you call being made an agent a consequence! Tony has had no snarky comments for her which is totally out of character for him. How about telling her that you don't question the boss? How about telling her that she shouldn't sit on Gibbs' desk. But no, they all just stand in her glory. I really don't know what the writers could do to fix the damage that has already been done. I don't blame EW, but I don't know what the writers can do to improve her character.

I don't think that the Bishop character is irredeemable. I just think the writing is continuing to be extremely mediocre compared to the seasons that were good (1 - 4). They writers have ruined Tony, made Gibbs into superman/daddy, devolved Abby to a shallow 13 year old with mad lad skills, and turned the spotlight onto Ellie. With Gibbs always written as the super hero (Tony no longer allowed to go there) and Ellie as the magical problem solver, Tony and Tim are pretty much irrelevant. Tony's only screen time seems to be devoted to making him seem even more sad or ridiculous than the week before. And Tony's my favorite character. I don't dislike Ellie Bishop because she's bad. I dislike her because the writers are once again tossing Tony into the garbage heap in order to maintain the status quo of super Gibbs (yawns) and wonder female agent (snores).

Those who are not happy, please give me a list of things they would like to see about Bishop. What would make her a winner for you and don’t say for her to leave.

Avatar
@ Michael

Please realize that I only speak for me. I am not anyone else but Sally. There is nothing that would make Bishop plausible to me now. I resent her too much because of her obvious disregard for Gibbs, Tony, McGee and Ducky (remember her reading the 600 page manual and becoming an expert in Ducky's area?). She operates in her own world, and cannot become part of a team. I will never be able to watch NCIS with her on it. That is the fault of the writers as far as I am concerned. They have put in jeopardy this whole season. As I have said before, this is the season that wasn't for me, and I am a die hard fan. You may not agree with me, but we should all be respectful of each others right to speak on this page.

In case you didn't realize it, Michael, Matt and M are all the same person.!

really and that how to do with NCIS how

Avatar
@ Michael

Sorry Michael, I'm only on here as guest, no one else. But I see that you failed to deny my claims just further cementing the truth. I have no reason to have more than one name because I don't need to justify my posts like you do because the only one that could possibly agree with you is you. Care to try again?

Avatar
@ Michael

I just believe that people should know that you are posting as several different people since you are responsible for about 80% of the awful, judgmental comments that fill these pages. You also try to back up your posts by having one of your fake names back your claims. But just like I told you the other day, if you don't change your voice and your obvious grammatical errors, I will always know it's you. Other people should know the truth, too. And FYI, your constant rants against Ziva have nothing to do with the current season of NCIS either. She's no longer on the show, so give it up. Your obsession with Ziva/Cote is really unhealthy.

Avatar
@ guest

Like your one to talk you have about 20 of the name on her from janet to Sally and you say worse things then I do I never say anything that not the truth.

Avatar

Let say Cote was to come back next year for the finale season how do you think that would make the other actors feel do you think they would be happy? do you really think it would make the show better? What about Michael Weatherly do you really want to see his character become a joke again just to make Ziva superwoman.

Avatar
@ Michael

First of all, you do not know if next year is going to be the finale season. Secondly, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are still very good friends and he has said he would like her to come back so, I think he would be fine with it. I would even take an NCIS with both Ziva and Bishop if that was the only way the show runners would bring Cote back. It's a win win for all. Bishop gets to stay and Ziva can have less screen time giving Cote the lesser work load that she probably wants. (Michael did say that she just wanted a break. ) I would love to see two female agents working on the same team. That could add an interesting dynamic to the show.

Avatar
@ Michael

I'll take Ziva over Bishop any day.

Avatar
@ PatrickC

So you take a whiny immature woman over a smart well educated one

Avatar
@ Michael

No, I'd rather take a woman who knew how to be a field agent over one who has no idea what she's doing.

Avatar
@ PatrickC

Me too! That character is just so incompatible, no disrespect to the actress. No one could fill the shoes of Ziva. I think Borin could have been a great addition and most of the fans would have accepted her.

@ Sally

No they would't they would of hated her too
