The CW has cast its final series regular for the Supernatural spinoff, while also renaming the planned project.
Now known as Supernatural: Bloodlines, the drama will still be centered in Chicago and based around a pair of monster families that run the underbelly of the Windy City.
And Melissa Roxburgh will play a major role.
The actress (who actually appeared on the Supernatural Season 7 episode "Tim After Time") will portray Violet Durant, a member of a strong werewolf pack who keeps her true nature a secret because of her forbidden love for family rival David (played Nathaniel Bozulic), a shapeshifter.
Other Supernatural: Bloodlines regulars will include:
- Danielle Savre as shapeshifter Margo Hayden.
- Sean Faris as a werewolf Julian Durant.
- Lucien Laviscount as police academy trainee/newly-minted Hunter Ennis Roth.
- Stephen Martines as a veteran Chicago PD Detective Freddie Costa.
These characters will appear on an upcoming Supernatural Season 9 episode that will serve as the spinoff's backdoor pilot.
As for other spinoffs also in the works...
