Patton Oswalt is heading to ABC.

The comedian/actor (The Goldbergs, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Justified) will guest star on an upcoming episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

Look for the star to portray Agent Eric Koenig, a character who was part of Nick Fury’s team of World War II soldiers in the comics on which the drama is based.

“I got a call from my agent saying they want you on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I said ‘Hell, yes,’” Oswalt said. “I’m lucky that I’m visible enough that they wanted to bring me in to play this character.

"I’d worked with [executive producer Joss Whedon] before on Dollhouse, and I guess I wasn’t too annoying and they decided to put me on another one of his shows. So I was very lucky.”

No air date has been set for Oswalt's guest appearance.

Hill: You haven't been near his arms.

Hill: What does S.H.I.E.L.D. stand for Agent Ward?
Ward: Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.
Hill: And what does that mean to you?
