NBC Cancels Community

NBC just announced that it has canceled Community, finally pulling the plug of a critically-adored sitcom that never found a large audience on the network.
Its Season 5 finale, which did serve as a solid series-ender because creator Dan Harmon knew cancelation was a possibility, only garnered 2.9 million viewers.
The cult favorite lost original cast members Chevy Chase and Donald Glover over the past year, but added Jonathan Banks and John Oliver to Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong and Alison Brie over its final strong run of episodes.
Alas, Community could still not avoid the darkest timeline in the end.
With its Upfront presentation set for Monday in New York City, NBC also made the following moves today:
- The network renewed Hannibal for Season 3.
- It picked up About a Boy for Season 2.
- It gave a green light to the following new programs:
