Warehouse 13 Review: From Thirteen to Fourteen

at .  Updated at .

One down and one to go, as Warehouse 13 Season 5 Episode 5 counted down to the series finale.

This was a quick and succinct cap on the main storylines of the season. And, as much as some extra detail would be appreciated, with six episodes to wrap up, things will go quickly.

Alternate Valda quickly began putting his plans into motion....by outsourcing Warehouse 13 to China's Warehouse 14. It was very much the tried and true formula for Warehouse: the world is in grave danger, but there's still time for outsourcing jokes.

Valda's plans for the new Warehouse were obscured by his mind control of Claire. It was a quick twist to bring the arc to a close and move on to the final chapter.

Pete's idea of transferring Claire's power to Valda, taking the fork from him and sending back to the alternative dimension was brilliant - but it brings about the idea that's touched on early: the quick and succinct path.

I'm beating a dead horse here, and it's not like things can be changed, but it's still disappointing that Warehouse 13 Season 5 is forced to run through all of these stories with little chance to develop them.

Valda is a big threat, but saving the world is one fell swoop loses a lot of his luster and ends up being a demotion to bad guy of the week; therefore reducing his villain status.

With the Warehouse temporarily in danger once again, and Claire's life and free will hanging in the balance, Warehouse 13 continues to show how far the family aspect has come in the show.

All of Artie's plans to stop the compass from sending the artifacts over is failing, but his own free will and regular rope slinging efforts helps stop the transport. In this act of desperation, he refers to the Warehouse as his home, refusing to let it go without a fight.

This entire season has demonstrated that Claudia's entire home life is coalescing into the Warehouse - hell, Claire has been living there years.

Finally, Pete is completely unable to process his feelings towards Myka and I'm very excited to see how Warehouse 13 wraps them up in next week's final installment.

Pete, while still recognizing his feelings, is still unsure of what exactly they are. He actually needs Steve to make sure he knows for certain whether or not he's lying to himself about those feelings.

With a little lie detecting magic, we're left knowing for sure that Pete Latimer is in love with Myka.

The only caveat of everything, though, is how Myka feels about Pete. She's the biggest variable in everything because there's not been much of an indication this season of where Myka's feelings for Pete land.

Will Pete and Myka get together in the series finale next week?
