Ann B. Davis, the beloved actress best known for portraying Alice on The Brady Bunch, died today after falling in her bathroom and hitting her head.

She was 88 years old.

Few other details are available at this time, but a family friend tells CNN that Davis suffered a subdural hematoma and never regained consciousness.

She was not affected by any health issues at the time of her passing.

Davis earned Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on The Bob Cummings Show (1955–59).

But she'll forever be remembered to most television fans as Alice, the housekeeper who doled out wisdom on a daily basis to Mike, Carol and their six kids.

In 1960, the Schenectady native received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

We send our condolences to her friends and loved ones.
