ABC Developing Derrick Storm-Based Drama: Will Castle Come to Fake Real Life?

by at . Comments

Okay, so try to follow along here:

ABC is in the preliminary stages of developing Derrick Storm, a drama based on the character at the forefront of Richard Castle’s novels on Castle.

Yes, this would be a show based on a fictional character written by another fictional character from one of ABC's shows.

Prior to teaming with Kate Beckett, Rich wrote multiple novels about Storm, a CIA operative. Since then, Hyperion Books has since published novels (in real life) about the man, including A Brewing Storm, A Raging Storm and A Bloody Storm.

Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe and executive producer Terri Edda Miller are on board to serve as producers on the potential new series.

It's a tad confusing, and it may never come to fruition, but it would be a pretty cool first in the television business if it ever does.

Castle Season 7 Episode 1, "Driven," airs on September 29.

It would only be REALLY good if Castle was involved, expressing enjoyment and being involved with the new show from his "real life" on Castle. How's that for making sense?

The show will work without Castle. there is already too much Castle on Castle. It can stand as an independent show

@ evelyn

You misunderstood. I meant on CASTLE he should be talking about them making a show about his books. He can't be on the Storm show any more than we would want the screenwriters of Castle making appearances. I'd like to see them work creating the Storm show into Castle, not the new show
