Arrow Season 3 Scoop: A New Villain in Starling City

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Do you want to know who Team Arrow will be doing battle on Arrow Season 3 Episode 2?

No problem!

EW learned that Matt Ward will be coming to town as Simon Lacroix, aka Komodo. In the New 52 comics, he's an archer and nemesis of Green Arrow. Here, he'll be on board as a mercenary causing problems in Starling City. Can we assume he'll do it with a bow?

Matt Ward Joining Arrow

Apparently Komodo will be a one-and-done villain-of-the-week, but executive producer Mark Guggenheim promises that the pursuit of the Komodo (and other weekly villains) will fit into the overall season arc in a better way than they have in the past.

That's welcome news. Instead of a sideline to show off the skills of Team Arrow, adding little in the long term, weekly villains will play a part in the continuing mythology.

Are you excited to see how Komodo comes in and is taken out? What other villains are you hoping to see? See how they were incorporated in previous seasons when you watch Arrow online via TV Fanatic.

Arrow Quotes

Laurel: Helena, you don't have to do this.
Helena: Yes, I do. Because once you let the darkness inside, it never comes out.

Oliver: I just need your A game right now Felicity.
Felicity: I don't have it! My friend, our friend, was shot with arrows and fell off of a rooftop. Her body is upstairs right above us in a freezer because we don't know what to do with it, with her, so I am so sorry, Oliver, if I have feelings, but maybe if you did, too... I'm sorry. That was mean. But this is Sara we're talking about. Your Sara. How can you stand there being so cold and rational?
Oliver: Because I don't have the luxury of falling to pieces. Everyone is looking to me to handle things, to make the right decisions. Everyone is looking to me to lead. If I grieve, nobody else gets to.
