James Van Der Beek is sticking around CBS.
The actor didn't have great success on that network with Friends with Better Lives, but multiple sources now confirm he's been cast as a series regular on CSI: Cyber.
The veteran actor will portray FBI Agent Elijah Mundo, an expert in battlefield forensics who is recruited by Patricia Arquette’s main character, Special Agent Avery Ryan.
Mundo is a The Man when it comes weaponry, vehicles and bombs. He’s also an action junkieproclaimed action junkie, who has no problem placing himself at risk.
This CSI spinoff will launch in early 2015 and be based on real-life Cyber Psychologist Mary Aiken. It centers on the Cyber Crime Division and will also star Charley Koontz and Peter MacNicol.
