A&E has said so long to Longmire.

The network announced today that the drama, which wrapped up Season 3 earlier this month, will not return for Season 4.

"We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of Longmire, along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling,” reads a statement from A&E. “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together."

Producer Warner Horizon will shop the Wyoming-based crime drama to other networks.

Longmire concluded Season 3 with an audience of 3.7 million total viewers and a 0.6 demo rating, down 16 and 45 percent from its Season 2 finale.

I am so sad about this show, it has great actors, I have never liked Lou Diamond Phillips more, well maybe on that guest shot he did on Psych : ) - but this cast does a great job and exists in near anonymity. I only see three comments here but this program will be missed. As I miss the Glades. I'm done with A&E, they've got nothing left that interests me. A savvy network (hello TNT USA) would do well to pick this show up.

Disappointing news but not totally surprising. So what does A&E really stand for now. Was Branch shot by his father? Hope someone else picks it up. I think that was the only show I watched on that channel.

It seems A&E is cancelling shows that are not exclusively produced by them in favor of their own shows. Longmire has the demo ratings to be picked up elsewhere in basic cable. BTW the ads on this site are becoming unbearable.

I am disappointed. When we only got 10 episodes this season I had a feeling this new was coming. I liked this show. With the Glades being cancelled last year and now Longmire, my A&E days have come to an end.
Seems like they just want their "reality" shows and Criminal Minds reruns!
