Franklin & Bash Review: Playing Dirty

at .  Updated at .

As Peter pointed out to Wendy in Franklin & Bash Season 4 Episode 4, there's bad dirty - and then there's good dirty.

We know which kind he was hoping to find with Wendy. Unfortunately, he also found the bad kind in the form of Officer Mueller.

Did Peter really stand Wendy up for a weekend in Napa? That's just wrong. No wonder they broke up. I certainly hope he learned his lesson because I think he and Wendy make a really fun couple and I hope we see more of them in the future.

I also appreciated that Wendy wasn't afraid to try and take down a dirty cop. She made it clear to Peter that she didn't want his protection. Is it wrong of me to be happy that he gave it anyway? Not that I didn't want to see Mueller go down but Wendy's job is already dangerous. It's unfortunate that it could be made more so if she stepped up and did the right thing.

Peter managed to win the case for his client and protect Wendy, he just couldn't take the trifecta by taking down Mueller too. But that might not be so bad. The boys need an adversary. Someone who can really present a challenge for them and Officer Mueller just might be that guy.

One of the funniest moments was when he had Peter and Jared arrested for animal cruelty for holding lobster races at their party. I loved what Peter told the judge in this Franklin & Bash quote

From now on we'll only boil them alive, crack their shells and suck out their insides.

Peter

I was thinking the same thing…just add butter.

As great as it was to see Peter with Wendy, it did make me wonder where Ellen Swatello was. We haven't really seen her and Jared outside of the office. Are they really still dating…or sleeping together…or whatever they've been doing?

Anita was starting to grow on me as Peter and Jared's plucky sidekick. Her enthusiasm  about getting out from behind a desk and getting her hands dirty with the law was contagious.

Infeld and Damien fought to win the business of the same client but it was all more about their underlying issues. Damien was upset that his uncle always feels the need to protect him. It's emasculating.

Damien: I'm a lawyer. I'm a very successful lawyer. Why can't you see me that way?
Infeld: I powdered your bottom.

I guess that's one of the hazards of working with family. Suddenly these two seem happier with one another now that they're on opposite sides.

And did you catch the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Damien) and The Breakfast Club (Jared) references in this episode? They both made me smile.

What do you think TV Fanatics. Do you want Peter and Wendy to get back together?

Franklin & Bash Season 4 Episode 4 Quotes

I'm ticked. I'm not peeved. I know the Mary Poppins accent makes you seem smart but I can't believe anyone's still buying it.

Damien

Officer: What's that smell?
Jared: We've got a pet skunk.
