at .

Two much-hyped premieres got off to two strong starts for Fox and CBS on Monday night.

Gotham Season 1 Episode 1 garnered 8 million total viewers and a strong 3.2 rating among 18-49-year olds, while leading into the Sleepy Hollow Season 2 opener.

It returned with a 2.0 rating among the same demographic, a rather big dip from last year’s opener.

On CBS, meanwhile, Scorpion Season 1 Episode 1 brought in 14 million overall viewers and scooped up a 3.3 rating among the key advertising demographic.

It certainly helped to follow a double-episode of The Big Bang Theory, which led the night with 18 million viewers.

Elsewhere:

  • The Blacklist returned with 12.4 million viewers and a 3.4 rating.
  • Dancing With the Stars dropped four-tenths from last week’s premiere.
  • Forever, one of the least-promoted new shows of the fall, nabbed a 1.5 demographic rating.
  • The Under the Dome Season 2 finale pulled in a 1.8 rating, out-rating ABC's Forever.
