TV Ratings Report: How To Get Away with Murder KILLS It

at .

Forgive the obvious pun, but How To Get Away with Murder absolutely killed it in the ratings last night.

The new Shonda Rhimes drama actually built on its Scandal Season 4 Episode 1 lead-in, garnering 14 million total viewers and a 3.8 rating among 18-49-year olds.

Scandal (11.9 million, 3.8) fared well itself, of course, while Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 opened with 9.8 million and a 3.0 demographic rating in its new timeslot.

CBS’ Thursday Night Football ruled the night overall, of course, but no other scripted programs came close to the numbers scattered around Shondaland.

NBC’s return of Parenthood (4.3 million, 1.4) at 10 p.m. was demolished, as was the shocker that took place on Bones Season 10 Episode 1 (6.2 million, 1.6); this premiere fell 30 percent from last fall's opener.
