Days of Our Lives Recap: Sami Leaves Salem

at .

It was a big week in Salem as Sami left for Hollywood, Jennifer called it quits and Brady learned the truth on this week's Days of Our Lives.

Sami said her goodbyes as she packed up the kids and left the DiMera manse for sunny LA. I think she was expecting more of a fight but as Lucas pointed out in this Days of Our lives quote

Whatever gets you out of the haunted mansion as soon as possible.

There were plenty of tears and sweet moments. I loved the Lumi flashbacks. They really were just kids when they started on the show and it's such fun to watch their early scenes. And it looked as though Sami was just a child when she first started going up against Kate. Then again, Sami's been a spit fire from the very beginning. You'd have to be to kidnap your own sister.

It's certainly not the way I ever expected to see Sami and EJ leave the show and I hate that EJami fans never got their happy ending but it was nice to see Sami leave on such a positive note.

Will was a different story. I could understand why Sami would want Will to come along. He's her son and big brother to the kids. But Will was so over the top excited about the opportunity to move to LA and advance his career that he didn't seem to even care that he'd be leaving his husband behind.

Sonny: So you and the baby I think of as my daughter, you both are leaving.
Will: For six months. That's all.

Does anyone think if the roles were reversed that Will would be nearly as gracious about his husband leaving him behind? Not a chance. In part, I felt as though Sonny should have been more vocal about his feelings. It was obvious that he was hurt that Will was so eager to take Ari and leave but the way Will kept extolling what a wonderful opportunity this was, how his family needed him and how he'd be able to put money away for Ari's education…I could see how Sonny might feel like a bit of a selfish ass throwing cold water on Will's parade.

But is this the end of Sonny and Will? Is there any chance Will is really going to return to Salem? If he does, I hope the role is recast. I've just never clicked with the latest actor to play Will. And if he doesn't return, I'm OK with that too. Sonny can do better.

Sonny and Will's pseudo-breakup didn't compare to Daniel and Jennifer's actual one.

What happened to Jennifer Rose? Years ago, she was always one of my favorite characters but since Jack's death she's become more and more self righteous and judgmental.

This fight between Daniel and Jennifer was weird. Daniel has been holding Jennifer at arm's length for weeks, insisting that they needed time apart since she obviously didn't trust him. Suddenly, Jennifer was calling it quits and it was Daniel who was begging for a second chance. That's quite an abrupt turn around.

But that's not what bothered me. The problem was Jennifer's attitude. How she attributed Daniel's relationship with JJ to Daniel trying to get back at her. As though Daniel not running directly to Jennifer and repeating what her son had told him had nothing to do with respect for JJ but was Daniel's way of punishing her.

Does Jennifer not realize that her kids are adults who have the right to confide in whomever they'd like? Does she really expect her grown son to come to her with concerns about his girlfriend? And telling Daniel to cut ties with her kids wasn't only selfish, it was mean.

Finally we get to the mess surrounding Brady. Kristen finally got the goods on Theresa, not that it did her much good. Brady wasn't buying a word of it…until he heard the truth straight from Theresa and John. That Theresa betrayed him was really no surprise but that his own father let him believe he put him in a coma, that's got to hurt. Brady and John's relationship was rocky to begin with. I wouldn't blame Brady if this latest lie was the last straw.

How will Brady face Daniel thinking that he's slept with Kristen? Is Kristen really leaving Salem and if so, what did you think of her time in Salem?

And what was your favorite quote from this week's Days of Our Lives?
