Jane the Virgin Season 1 Episode 6 Review: Chapter Six

at .  Updated at .

It can't possibly be a nice feeling when you have to go back to high school after a bad experience. Unfortunately for Jane, she went back and found herself some mean girls to battle.

Jane the Virgin Season 1 Episode 6 featured a number of uncomfortable issues with which Jane had to deal.

First, there were the evil (kind of, sort of) step-sisters. For only meeting Jane the day before, they moved fast on the whole hating her thing. The fact that they had an entire website revealing her secret that fast was unbelievable. Those gosh darn kids and their technology.

Poor Jane. What's even worse is what she may have to deal with next. I can't believe the school may use her as a poster child. Her abuela was right, no one at that school should've known about the pregnancy.

Jane: Look's like I'll be teaching at a Catholic high school.
Xiomara: Maybe don't tell them you're a pregnant virgin.
Jane: The nuns or the high schoolers?
Abuela: Both.

Jane's revenge on the girls was pretty bright. I mean, who wouldn't want to go chasing after Rafael at the beach. Anyone? Anyone? I didn't think so.

There was also some progress in the Rogelio and Jane relationship.

Rogelio is an interesting character because at moments you want to smack some sense into him for what he says, but most of the time he is just a very rich man without a lot of sense.

To my former stepdaughters, you will always be step-daughters in my hearts.

Rogelio

The sweetest moment came with the breakthrough in his relationship with Jane. It was nice to know that Rogelio isn't just throwing money at Jane; he is just making up for lost time. Maybe it is not always in the most appropriate ways, but his heart is in the right place.

Now Petra. That woman has never been the most pleasant or likable character around (and I'm sure she's not meant to be), but I am very curious about who this Ivan guy is and what issues will arise in the future. Is it just money or an even bigger conspiracy? And why would she choose the messiest thing (Zaz's ashes) to knock out, or kill, Ivan?

But, Petra got what she deserved with Rafael after he found a witness to the non-abuse, but after putting Rafael in jail, I don't really care.

Now to the big relationships. The infamous triangle.

After Michael's heart-breaking plea to Jane in Jane the Virgin Season 1 Episode 5, I felt bad for him. He did what he thought was best, but he also was doing it for purely selfish reasons. If Jane would've found out the truth later, it could've ended a lot worse.

Even Jane could put together the path of lies that Michael told, which probably hurt her more than the single lie. See, people, that's why you tell the truth. The web of lies is not a fun place to get stuck.

And Rafael. He is such a swoon-worthy fellow. It's hard to imagine him as the playboy he apparently was in the past.

The entire time I was hoping Rafael would reveal his feelings and, and even when he did, I thought it was a fake-out and was waiting for him to knock back into reality. Luckily, it was real life.

And, boy, that confession was a great moment and worth it for the right time. The man can give a good speech.

I've never been the type of guy that believes in fate or destiny. What are the chances? I mean, we kissed 5 years ago and now we're here. I mean it sounds crazy, but doesn't this just feel like it's meant to be?

Rafael

I loved that they showed Jane's heart as he confessed his feelings and loved it even more there wasn't any attention drawn to it. You just had to notice it.

While I am extremely happy about the new Jane and Rafael pairing, I do notice the fast pace of it. Obviously, Jane was leaving a good thing and Rafael, not so much, so they each are both going into differently.

I hope this doesn't ruin their great relationship, romantic or not, because the budding friendship was just as fun to watch as, I'm sure a romantic one will be, too.

What did you think of "Chapter Six"? Are Jane and Rafael meant to last or are they just rebound? Does Petra have another evil plan up her sleeve with Ivan? How do you think Michael is going to react to this budding relationship?
