Chasing Life Season 1 Episode 19 Review: Life, Actually

at .  Updated at .

Some relationships came to a close, while others reached dizzying new heights.

Chasing Life Season 1 Episode 19 found Greer finally standing up to her parents. It really was a long time coming.

For too long, they have set their sights on ruining Greer's happiness and trying to turn her into someone she isn't. It looks like she will have some time to fly free – at least for a little while. They will return before Chasing Life Season 1 is over and bring trouble with them.

Grenna finally got back together, y'all! All the rooting for them paid off and they both came clean to each other about their feelings. The scene with Brenna revealing how she felt about Greer when their relationship first began was one of the most powerful scenes in the history of the show.

The acting from both Haley Ramm and Gracie Dzienny brought a tear to my eye.

The have been trying to make it work for so long and it actually looks like it will work now.

It's hard to say Brenna, but in the sucky parents department, I'm always going to win.

Greer

The same can't be said for Sara and Owen. I was as startled as Sara when Owen's wife showed up. I kept thinking to myself that it was going to turn out that they'd parted ways, but it wasn't to be. Sara really can't catch a break, can she? She should just stay single for a while, or at least until George pops back up.

Beth's and Graham's relationship naturally reached its end point. At the start of the episode, they were happy and looking at apartments. Who'd have guessed that by the end of the hour Beth would be a sobbing mess? Beth sure was quick to comment on Leo having commitment issues, so she kind of looks like a hypocrite now.

I don't doubt that Graham loves her, but he is looking for something a lot more long term and knows what he wants. Clearly Beth didn't think too much about the future and was just rushing into everything with him. Let's hope they make it up soon. They really are a good couple, but they could just be moving a little too fast.

Natalie and Dom officially went there. To the shock of no one, they closed the episode in the arms of each other. The scene between the two of them and April was very awkward, but I'm really digging this pairing. I hated it at first, but Natalie as a character has grown tremendously and I don't think she should be afraid to tell April. You can't help who you love, right?

It looks like April is going to be annoyed based on the promos for Chasing Life Season 1 Episode 20, but she has no right to be. I get that they are sisters and all, but if the tables were turned, I'm sure she would be doing the same as Natalie.

What brings you here?

Natalie

Which brings me to April and Leo. There were so many positive developments for this couple. I'm optimistic that it'll stay this way for at least a little while.

"Life, Actually" was another solid episode of this ABC Family series. The show continually puts out thrilling episodes that manage to tug at the heart strings while thrilling the audience.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • It was a shock that we got to see Julian again so soon. Hopefully he sticks around for some time.
  • Where are Emma and Raquel? These two steal every scene with their wit. My dream scene would involve those two just being funny.
  • The show managed to have so much relationship drama tonight without it being boring.
