It was an angst filled week in Salem as Abigail found out she was pregnant and was left to wonder who’s the daddy, Eve tried to drug Jennifer, and Theresa ousted the nanny. 

Our TV Fanatic Christine Orlando is joined by Leila and Tinab from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives Fan Forum to debate their favorite couples, Abigail’s mysterious inheritance and if Kayla should run that paternity test after last week’s Days of Our Lives. 

Who is your favorite current Days of Our Lives couple?

Leila:  I guess of the current couples I would say Lucas and Adrienne. Although I would love to see Sonny and Paul get together, and with time Eric and Nicole.

Tinab: Sadly I don't like any couples very much right now. Hope and Aiden would have to be my pick.

Christine: Hope and Aiden which is actually quite sad given how little we see of them onscreen. I’m hoping that Chad and Abby will eventually be a real couple but we’ll have to wait and see. 

This week we got flashbacks of Justin and Adrienne’s early days. Should the show use more flashbacks?

Leila: Yes, but only of older stuff. I hate it when they flash back to scene that happened weeks ago. I hope with the 50th Anniversary we get lots of flashbacks.

Tinab: Because I am a long time viewer I LOVE the flashbacks! I definitely think they should use more.

Christine: Absolutely, but as Leila pointed out, only for the older stuff. These flashbacks were a great way to remind viewer of how in love Justin and Adrienne once were and how much they’ve lost. 

Eve had a revelation about her behavior while talking to Eric. Do you think it will stick?

Leila: I am on the fence with this one. There is a part of me that thinks Eve will never change, but then again I would think if anything could get Eve to change it would be losing Paige. She does seem to genuinely love her daughter, she just has a strange way of showing it.

Tinab: I hope it sticks. I really like Eve and would like see her do something other than be miserable and scheming.

Christine: I agree, Tinab. There’s a lot of potential for depth with Eve if she’d just stop these pointless schemes and let go of her hatred. That said, I’m not sure how long her revelation will stick.

Should Kayla run Abigail’s paternity test using Chad’s DNA without telling Chad?

Leila: No, that would be totally unethical and out of character for Kayla. Yes Kayla has occasionally bent the rules in the past, but only in dire situations. Abigail not knowing who the father is of her baby is not a dire situation. The Kayla I know would her encourage her to be honest.

Tinab: I don't think Kayla should bend the rules for family. She is chief of staff and should be held to a higher set of standards.

Christine:  I will think a lot less of Kayla if she chooses to go through with this plan. Abigail got herself into this mess and she should have to face the consequences. If that means asking Chad for a DNA sample then so be it. 

What do you think of Abigail getting a huge inheritance: Interesting twist or lame way to ramp up the drama?

Leila: I think it is a total plot point, and a lame one at that.

Tinab: I can't decide yet. It feels lame right now but I am interested to see where it goes!

Christine: Lame! Suddenly Abigail’s getting some huge inheritance from a women we’ve never heard of and coincidentally, Stefano needs it to keep the DiMera empire running. I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt.

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Leila: Honestly the whole show has been disappointing me lately. There are a few bright spots, but some big changes need to happen.

Tinab: I am over Serena and her crazy eyes! And Paige with her lame schemes to hurt JJ.

Christine: Since Tinab already mentioned Serena, I’m going to go with Theresa. I was hoping that having a baby would show her vulnerable side. Instead we just get ridiculous schemes to get the nanny fired. It’s silly and trivial and the character (and audience) deserve better. 

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Leila: I really loved the Justin and Adrienne scenes from Friday, and the use of the flashbacks. I hope we got see more of these types of scenes with some of the returns that will be happening later in the year. 

Tinab: I like Victor , Theresa and Brady.  Also was surprised how much I enjoyed hope and Abigail.

Christine: This was a great week for Hope fans. She spent time with Jennifer, had interactions with Daniel and Abigail and a romantic date with Aiden. I was thrilled.
