Can things get much worse for Emma?
On Scream Season 1 Episode 5, Emma struggled to cope in the aftermath of her sex tape being leaked, but her day just got worse when Brooke came clean about the bet that made Will go out with her.
She should have known Will is a sketchy guy, but she just doesn't seem to be a very good judge of character. Why do I get the feeling Kieran is not the guy he's making her think he is? He just pops up randomly and doesn't interact with anyone else. Well, he snickers at Will, but that's about as far as it goes.
I get that Kieran wants to help Emma forget what's going on, but I think it was a really stupid move to initiate anything intimate while they were in the middle of nowhere. This should raise questions about whether he knew they wouldn't be attacked at that moment. If these two roll on with their romance, it might throw a spanner in the works for their parents, since they also have a burgeoning love story going on right about now.
Brooke got closer to the truth about her mother, and it looks like she could really be dead. In a video that Jake went out his way to show her, it looks like the mayor took a body out of his car, but is it really her mother? Considering the way her father keeps making up an excuse for her absence, there's a very good chance it is. If he's killed once, he could kill again, and Will should be very high up on his list of victims.
Brooke: So... before I say what I have to say, how hot is your coffee?
Emma: Well, it is coffee, so hot.
I'm surprised Jake came clean to Brooke, but I'm not surprised everything was blamed on Will. He has a weird obsession with Brooke and just always wants to be near her. They have been friends for years, so could he be pushing for a romance with her? Heck, the tension between him and Will had me thinking they were going to get it on and be revealed as the killers. That could still be partly true, and he's just pursuing Brooke to deflect the truth.
Brooke: You could have just ordered an iced coffee.
Jake: I like torturing the ice.
Piper got a little more screen time this week, but the fact that she was billed as the Gail Weathers of the show has me wondering if she really does care for Emma, or if she's trying to exploit her for her own personal advantage. I guess we'll have to keep tuning in to find out.
As usual, Noah continued to bring the laughs, but he and Audrey also may have uncovered another shocking truth and it involves their teacher, who also happens to be Brooke's boyfriend. We need REAL answers like, right now!
- Will Emma ever be able to trust her mother again? It seems she is hiding A LOT from her. You'd think she'd have come clean when the murders started.
- Jake was pretty scary when he was in the mask trying to get the money from the mayor. I half expected him to mortally wound him.
- The new detective in town sure looks like she's on a mission. Her reaction to Nina's laptop has me very worried about what's to come.
- Did anyone LOVE Audrey for tackling Will?!
"Exposed" was another solid outing for the show. The reveals don't seem to be filler, and they actually seem to be advancing the story, which makes it all worthwhile.
