AMC announced during its Comic-Con panel in San Diego this afternoon that The Walking Dead Season 6 will premiere with a special 90-minute episode on Sunday, October 11 at 9/8c.

As has been the cast for years now, the 16-episode season will be split in half; with eight episodes airing consecutively prior to a lengthy hiatus.

The final eight-episode run will then kick off in February 2016.

Moreover, AMC announced a Talking Dead Season 6 Preview Special.

It will air on Sunday, August 23 at 8/7c and be hosted by super fan Chris Hardwick.

The special will provide fans with an early peek at what to expect on The Walking Dead Season 6, along with exclusive interviews with cast members and executive producers.
