Chicago Med Nabs Pretty Little Liars Vet Torrey DeVitto as Series Regular!

Torrey DiVitto doesn't have to play second fiddle to liars or vampires anymore!

The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars veteran has been cast as Dr. Lilly Manning, a pregnant ER physician on Chicago Med, the highly anticipated Chicago Fire spinoff that will begin airing on NBC this fall.

The news comes just one day after the announcement that Laurie Holden would be vacating her role on the spinoff. However, this is not a recast, as the series had already planned on adding an additional three female roles to the growing cast. Dr. Lilly Manning was one of those planned roles.

The character is described as sweet and warm, someone who did everything right, from studying to marriage and the upcoming child on the way. She is, perhaps, a little bit in denial about the fact her life is about to undergo an enormous change with the birth of her child.

Previously, DeVitto was in contention to be "A" or Red Coat on Pretty Little Liars as Melissa Hastings, and played Dr. Meredith Fell on The Vampire Diaries.

Chicago Med will premiere Tuesday, Nov. 17 on NBC.
