The 100 Season 3 Adds Brenda Strong as an Ice Queen

at .

Fairly little is known of the Ice Nation in the post-apocalyptic world of The 100.

What we know now is that Brenda Strong will be front and center as Queen Nia of the Ice Nation.

Strong is known for her work as the long-time narrator and dearly departed neighborhood friend on Desperate Housewives, and more recently, as Ann Ewing on the Dallas revival.

As first reported by EW, the Queen has reigned over her nation for many years while "holding onto power through ruthlessness and savvy.” Further details about her character say, “She does what she must to maintain her power, even when it puts her at odds with those closest to her."

She sounds like any good queen, right? And a lot like many of the other strong (no pun intended) and worthwhile female leaders who have found themselves going head-to-head on earth recently.

Strong is one of several new adult cast members for The 100 Season 3, including Zach McGowan as a rogue Grounder and Michael Beach as Pike, a touch and charismatic Arker we will soon get to know.

The 100 Quotes

Miller: What does it mean?
Bellamy: It means Clarke's alive. And we're gonna get her back.

Bryan: Are we ever gonna be done fighting?
Miller: Hell yes. We're gonna build a house on a lake. We're gonna plant corn. And raise chickens. And grow old.
