17 Fictional TV Schools That Totally Rule

at .  Updated at .

Whether your high school years were the best time of your life or the worst, there's no denying that these fictional TV high schools have a lot to offer.

Some have the coolest teachers around, some tend to burst into song, and some are full of supernatural happenings (vampires, anyone?). Check out some of our favorites below.

1. Beacon Hills High School (Teen Wolf)

Not exactly safe, what with the werewolves and mysterious deaths and all, Beacon Hills High School was built on top of the Hale Family Vault. It's where the characters we've come to know and love from Teen Wolf spend most of their time, and it definitely makes the unforgettable list.

2. Anchor Beach Community Charter (The Fosters)

The Fosters' Anchor Beach Community Charter is pretty much just as awesome as it sounds. It's just a good, positive place to be. Plus, location, location, location! It's right on the beach, and there's a beautiful view. We totally wish we could have gone here.

3. Bayside High (Saved by the Bell)

Here's a classic for you. Whether it was teacher swap day, cut day, or random dance competitions, Bayside High was always the place to be. And let's not forget the proximity to the beach and hanging out at The Max. Actually, we'd be happy to hang out anywhere with this gang.

4. Sunnydale High School (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

I know what you're thinking. Maybe you don't wish you had gone to school on top of a hellmouth. I don't either, but talk about a unique high school experience. Oh, and that school spirit? Everyone bands together on graduation day to defeat a big bad. That's something to be pretty proud of. Plus, there's Giles!

5. Rosewood High School (Pretty Little Liars)

There's a heck of a lot more going on at Pretty Little Liars' Rosewood High School than your typical teenage drama and difficult classes. You know if you had gone here, you'd have even more interesting stories to tell about your high school days.

6. Mystic Falls High School (The Vampire Diaries)

Let's be honest. This is another high school we wouldn't have enjoyed attending in terms of safety (there are vampires lurking, after all), but The Vampire Diaries' Mystic Falls High School is still way cooler than our high schools were.

7. Chilton (Gilmore Girls)

Rory Gilmore was thrilled to be accepted to Chilton Prep, and though it was a tough transition at first (with really difficult classes, plaid skirts, and Paris Geller), it turned out to be an unforgettable experience that even resulted in a few unexpected friendships.

8. Palos Hills High School (Awkward)

Palos HIlls High School is one the more traditional schools on our list, where the main chracters on Awkward find themselves dealing with more traditional teenage issues. Most importantly, it's where they learn about life and develop their identities.

9. Liberty High School (My So Called Life)

Liberty High School, where Angela Chase (Claire Danes) from My So Called Life struggles with being a teenager, is another school with real problems and real growth. It has also has one of our favorite TV teachers, Mr. Katimski.

10. Constance Billard School for Girls / St. Jude's School for Boys (Gossip Girl)

Not so typical, but very prestigious, are the Constance Billard School for Girls and St. Jude's School for Boys (these are partner schools) on Gossip Girl. Sure, there's plenty of drama at the New York City private schools, but they've got a good reputation of preparing their students for an ivy-league education.

11. John Quincy Adams Middle School (Girl Meets World)

In this Boy Meets World spin-off, Corey Matthews is the teacher and not the student. He teaches at John Quincy Adams Middle School, which is just one of many reasons this school rules. If only our real middle schools had been this much fun!

12. Benjamin Harrison High School (Finding Carter)

Carter is forced to adjust to a new life and a new school on MTV's Finding Carter. At least at Benjamin Harrison High School, the teachers are good, and there are no supernatural forces to make life more difficult than it has to be.

13. Neptune High (Veronica Mars)

This one has it's own crazy stories to tell, and at times it gets a little bit too real. The cast of characters on Veronica Mars makes Neptine High School unique in it's own way -- and did you check out that view?

14. William McKinley High (Freaks and Geeks)

High school is difficult for most, especially if you fall in the geek or the freak category. But William McKinley High was a good place for these kids to figure out their way, even if we only got to see it happen for one season.

15. William McKinley High (Glee)

Is there an echo in here? William McKinley High is also the name of the school on Glee, only in this one, the kids often burst into song. I don't know about you, but despite my terrible singing voice, I think it would have been fun to be a part of the glee club had I gone to school here.

16. Tree Hill High School (One Tree Hill)

Lots of drama here, but that doesn't mean Tree Hill High School wouldn't have been a cool school to go to. We definitely would have liked to go to those basketball games. Fun fact: this one hits close to home for me, since those basketball games were shot in my actual high school gym!

17. Greendale Community College (Community)

Okay, but this isn't all just about middle school and high school. We also have community college to consider, and what better choice for this list than Greendale Community College? After all, it prides itself in accessibility, afforability, and air conditioning!
