Without a doubt, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Episode 1 was a thrilling start to the new season. Not only has Skye Daisy come into her own, but Coulson's Secret Warriors are beginning to take shape. Hopefully, Lincoln will sign up soon.

Share your thoughts on the evolution of Skye/Daisy. How do you think she handled Joey's case?

Jim: I'm glad they threw the one nod into us knowing her as Skye previously with Coulson slipping. I think she handled Joey fairly well, but could have shared a little more with him about what she went through to help him not freak out so easily. Clearly Daisy has never worked with anyone in a recovery program.

Kathleen: I'm not sure how I could have handled things better than she did. It's a crazy situation from a normal person's perspective. She's been through the insanity and came out remarkably stable on the other end, but she's feeling pretty overwhelmed by it all. She was wise to attempt to recruit Luke to help. At some level, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is actually Daisy's story. We met her in the first episode and have watched her grow from a chaotic loner to a strong young woman to a leader. I can definitely see her taking over as S.H.I.E.L.D. director some day.

Robin: I love who this character has become, even more so when I think back on how she started off in Season 1. She's become such a strong, grounded woman. She handled Joey's case with as much grace and class as she could.

Caralynn: I really enjoyed the fact that Daisy has come full circle -- even down to reclaiming her original/birth name! In the first few episodes of the series, it was all about Skye acclimating to this strange new world that she'd become a part of, and now she's basically a pro at inducting other newbies into said strange new world. I love it! She did a very good job with Joey, and I think those scenes served the dual purpose of showing her in a leadership role and also highlighting how far she'd come in being able to control her powers.

Hank: Skye was one of those cookie-cutter characters that irritated me in Season 1. I honestly didn't like her much and I know I'm not alone. Once her Inhuman metamorphosis kicked in, Skye became a really interesting and complex character. We've watched her grow and I agree with Kathleen, in many ways this is Daisy's story. As far as Joey, I think she did the best she could to calm and inform him. However, seeking out Lincoln was a wise choice. You've got to know your limits as well. I'm totally lovin' Daisy now, she rocks (or quakes) hehe.

What was your favorite moment from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Premiere?

Jim: I loved seeing the team extract Joey. There is nothing like hitting the ground running with some awesome display of Quake's abilities!

Kathleen: I agree with Jim, that was a fantastic sequence. Now that she is confident with her powers, Daisy gets to be the Cavalry!

Robin: Does "everything Fitz said and did" count as a moment? No? Okay - then I'll go with Fitz screaming at the monolith. Even thinking about it gives me chills.

Caralynn: I'm with Robin. The opening sequence and Daisy's swooshy-hair hero entrance were pretty fantastic, but WOW did Fitz really steal the show. Him screaming at the monolith was so upsetting. I felt his pain.

Hank: Though I also loved the opening sequence Jim, I'm going to go with Daisy and Lincoln fighting Lash. It's just so cool to see powers being put to good use. The whole idea of Secret Warriors thrills me. You guys are right, Fitz had some amazing moments as well.

Is the ATCU (Advanced Threat Containment Unit) this year's "Real S.H.I.E.L.D."? Is Rosalind Price a formidable foe?

Jim: Time will tell if the ATCU is going to end up being a major threat or if Rosalind and Coulson can find a middle ground. Absolutely Rosalind is a formidable foe. She is at least Coulson's equal if not slightly ahead him given she has the president on her side.

Kathleen: It remains to be seen how much of a practical threat ATCU will be to our S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. As Jim suggested, it might be possible for Rosalind and Coulson to come to an understanding, in the same way that Coulson forged a working relationship with General Talbot: wary, but not actively hostile. I am very curious to know how Rosalind knows so much about Tahiti, even remarking that "it's a magical place." That little bit of intel was extremely compartmentalized at S.H.I.E.L.D., after all.

Robin: I agree with Jim and Kathleen. I think they're better than "the real S.H.I.E.L.D." They seem like one of those organizations that we may be rooting both for and against at any given point in time. Rosalind Price is a formidable foe but she doesn't seem crazy or misguided, and her agenda is unclear. Coulson's met his match with her though.

Caralynn: They are definitely better than "the real S.H.I.E.L.D." so far (not saying much, because I thought that whole bit last season was really lame and just sort of petered out). I also love Constance Zimmer and I think she can totally bring it as Rosalind, so I would say she is definitely going to be a formidable foe to Coulson and his people. I will say that I hope, as of now, that they don't go the forbidden-romance route with Coulson and Rosalind. It's just too obvious.

Hank: I absolutely hated the real S.H.I.E.L.D. arc, and my first thought when the ATCU was introduced was "here we go again." I'm trusting the writers to avoid the been there done that thing, and go in a completely different direction. Coulson and Rosalind working together would be a great start. He's definitely met his match in her, but I'm not sure they're going to get along easily. I guess time will tell, right?

Did Iain De Caestecker's performance impress you? Will Fitz locate Simmons and where in the Galaxy is she?

Jim: Fitz was awesome, as mentioned in your review watching Fitz scream at the monolith was heartbreaking. If anyone can figure out where she is, it will be Fitz.

Kathleen: I think Jim hit the nail on the head. Iain De Caestecker was brilliant in this episode, and I suspect Fitz will be instrumental in rescuing Simmons from wherever she landed.

Robin: Did he impress me?!? Listen, by the end of that episode I was ready to ask Iain De Caestecker to marry me. He is absolutely freakin' incredible. He owned every scene, from Morocco back to S.H.I.E.L.D., and as I already mentioned, his scene at the monolith was heartwrenching. Fitz is absolutely going to find a way to get Simmons back.

Caralynn: I love Fitz, I love FitzSimmons, Iain totally killed it. The raw emotion in his eyes was crazy. Like Robin mentioned earlier, I also got chills watching him. I think he will either find Simmons or she (being the brilliant lass she is) will manage to find her own way home. For Fitz's sake, I really hope it's the former.

Hank: Iain De Caestecker is the man! In my Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Episode 1 review, I mentioned that Iain has always been impressive, but he managed to step up his game yet again. In our Season 2 Report Card, Fitz took "Best Ongoing Story Arc & Performance." I think it's safe to say I'm a massive fan of Mr. De Caestecker. As far as where Simmons is, hopefully somewhere near Star Lord and the gang woohoooo!

Do you think Lash is simply exterminating Inhumans or is someone holding his leash?

Jim: I think he is doing this on his own. Given that ATCU and SHIELD both didn't know who he was and HYDRA is dormant, there is no way there is a 3rd global player that strong.

Kathleen: It's worth noting that the comic Earth-616 version of Lash was basically a racial supremacist, trying to find other Inhumans and judge if they were "worthy" of their powers. I'd imagine that Lincoln, working as a doctor among ordinary humans, would be immediately judged unworthy.

Robin: Kathleen, how I love that you know that! Jim's reasoning is sound - having a third powerful organization that even knows what an Inhuman is seems unlikely. That said, while Lash may be working on his own, I imagine he won't be the only one.

Caralynn: Thanks for that Lash factoid, Kathleen! I don't follow the comics closely, but that version of his character really fits here. I agree that he is probably working alone. Mostly because I can't see any major organization employing an Inhuman assassin to eradicate the Inhuman threat -- too risky. Also the idea of him as a rogue, kinda crazy dude makes him different than many of the other threats S.H.I.E.L.D. has faced so far.

Hank: Because he's a lone wolf type, I'm thinking the writers might surprise us with a twist. What if Lash survived Jiaying's little war and has been tracking down their traitor, Lincoln? He might juat have ties to that group and is out for revenge. Either way, I thought the character looked amazing and I want to learn more about him.
