iZombie Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blues

Say it with me iZombie fans: Ahhhhhhhh!

iZombie Season 2 Episode 4 delivered on the shipper-y goodness in a big way! Major and Liv, after all this time and distance and hurt and betrayal, have finally found their way back into each others arms!

Who knows if it will actually last – we've got the small matters of Gilda and Major's extra curricular activities to deal with – but let's all just enjoy it while we can!

First, let have three cheers for Peyton and Liv's epic BFF reunion! Yay Yay Yay!

Girl friendships are so important, and theirs in particular has been missing from our weekly lineup for far too long. Seeing the two of them hash out everything that happened, even if it was a bit rushed, was so cathartic. Hopefully now they can go right back to being besties, without all the secrets and drama in the way.

Meanwhile, if Major hadn't already won a spot in your hearts before now, I'll bet he certainly did tonight.

Just when it seemed like he'd sunk so far into his Utopium haze that he would never come out again, Major was faced with one of those rock bottom moments that turn people around. Buying drugs from one of the Helton Shelter kids, who he'd previously tried to keep off the streets, turned out to be a turning point for our resident zombie assassin drug addict.

After watching Major reject Liv's previous confession of love and acceptance, I'll admit I was afraid he would run straight back into Gilda's beautiful arms.

I doubt that I will ever stop loving you, but it's over now. I gotta let you go. Completely. Forever.

Liv

Instead, he found his way back into Liv's comforting embrace, and he even managed to admit he needs help.

Will he be able to tell her the whole story? Assassinations and drugs galore is a lot to confess, and I'm not sure Major's ready to tell Liv everything just yet.

It's a great too see this reversal of their iZombie Season 1 dynamic though. It used to be that Major was the one trying to get close to an elusive and secretive Liv. Now that the roles are reversed, it's up to you guys to decide whose lies will end up being more destructive to their relationship.

Speaking of romance, did anyone else catch those massive vibes coming off of Blaine and Peyton?

I know, I know... Blaine is still a TERRIBLE guy, and Peyton is a precious cinnamon roll that deserves to be protected at all costs. But they've got some crazy chemistry. We'll just have to wait and see if it leads somewhere nice, or if it leads Peyton into a world of trouble.

After all, Blaine is always up to something nefarious. Just ask Gabriel.

I don't think there's an emoji that rightfully expresses my feelings about losing $50k a month.

Blaine

Once again, the case of the week was a bit of a disappointment. It didn't provide any sort of connection to Liv's Max Rager case or Blaine's new zombie trade, and it barely tied in to Liv's existential crisis of the week. This subplot's only saving grace was that it fueled Major and Liv's touching reunion scene – and their epic fight.

You can't always win with a heavy procedural element, but let's hope iZombie manages to hit a little closer to the target next week on iZombie Season 2 Episode 5

Elsewhere, we finally got to meet the newest addition to our crime-fighting team, Special Agent Dale Bozzio of the FBI.

She is sassy, smart, and way into Babineaux if their rain check dinner date was any indication, and I'm 100% on board with this new plot. Babineaux has needed a story all his own for a while now, and Dale might present an opportunity for just that.

Will sparks fly between Babineaux and Dale? Will Gabriel have a come-to-Jesus moment and give Blaine the Utopium recipe? Leave your theories in comments below!
