What's a fan got to do to get some footage of Zoey Dalton's return?

Sorry folks, you'll have to wait to see why and how Zoey shows up in Nashville Season 4 Episode 4, but our best guess is that she's there to support Scarlett in her time of grief. Such a great best friend! Elsewhere, Rayna and Markus get a little too close for comfort, and Layla finally gets back on stage.

Check out these photos from "The Slender Threads" which airs Wednesday October 14th at 10/9c.

1. Scarlett Mourns - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

After taking her mother, Beverly, off of life support, Scarlett is no doubt in a very dark and mournful place. And what's a girl to do when she's got a serious case of the blue but right a killer song about her pain? Scarlett always knows how to belt out the tragic ones, so we're looking forward to whatever song she's writing up this time.

2. Trouble in Paradise? - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

After refusing to help her make the decision to keep her mother on life support or let her go, Caleb might not be Scarlett's favorite person. In the end, Gunnar was the one to give her the advice and support that she needed, which might end up causing a rift between this otherwise perfect couple.

3. Back on Stage - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

It's been quite a while since we got to see Layla play to a packed stadium, but it looks like Jeff is finally coming through for her as a manager. Don't forget that Glenn was the one who offered to represent her last week though! We think that Jeff's number might be up when it comes to this young artist!

4. Layla All Alone - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

Recently, Layla has felt pretty abandoned by her team. Jeff doesn't want to make her a priority, Rayna has too much going on, and Bucky never really wanted her on the label anyways. With virtually no one in her corner, Layla's career was hitting the brakes pretty hard. It's nice to see her back on stage, but let's just hope we can keep it that way.

5. Rayna & Layla - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

After abandoning Layla at her Bluebird performance, Rayna really owes it to this girl to make it up to her. It looks like she's trying and succeeding though, since Layla seems happier than ever to be side by side with the country music legend on stage. A step in the right direction, Rayna!

6. Label Love - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

Now that Markus Keen has signed to Rayna's label – pretty much empyting her pockets in the process – let's hope that the song and dance to get him on board was worth it. From the looks of things, Rayna and Markus are enjoying their new partnership A LOT! Does someone need to call Deacon about this?

7. A Country Duet - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

Now that Markus has agreed to sign on to a country label, who else thinks there are going to be some creative differences with this former rocker. Already, you can tell that he looks mighty out of place in his grunge wear nex to Rayna's country classic look. At least neither of these singers seems to mind too much!

8. Belt It Out - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

How long has it been since we've seen Rayna on stage? Too long! Her first appearance back in front of a crowd just happens to be with rocker turned solo artist, Markus Keen, and they're both belting it like they mean it! This is one song you do not want to miss!

9. A Kiss for Rayna - Nashville Season 4 Episode 4

This kiss might look innocent enough for the crowd, but we're worried that Markus and Rayna might end up getting a little too close for comfort in the coming weeks. They've already had a cozy plane ride to cement their friendship, and with Deacon busy mourning Beverly, it might be the worst time for a hot new artist to be spending time with Rayna.

Rising tides raise all ships. Of course, as your manager, I'm going to make sure of that.
