Fargo Season 3: When Will It Be Set?

at .

As previously (and awesomely) announced, FX has renewed Fargo for Season 3.

And now we can share some insight about just what fans might see on the third season of television's best show.

Creator Noah Hawley tells Entertainment Week that future episodes will take place just a couple of years after season one, which was set in 2006.

Does this mean we may spend more time with characters from season one?

Such as the beloved Allison Tolman in the role of Molly Solverson?

Yes, "potentially," Hawley teased.

Fargo Season 1 centered on Molly and Colin Hanks’ Gus as they attempted to solve the murder of a local man’s wife.

Fargo Season 2 (which is utterly fantastic!) is set in 1979. It chronicles the actions of a small-town couple; their cover-up; and how everyone gets sucked in to a war between feuding mob families.

"There are going to be connections, the way the first year was connected to the movie and the second year was connected to the first," Hawley told EW of Season 3, adding:

"But I think part of the fun is figuring that stuff out and I wouldn't want to take that away from anybody. There will be definitely things that connect to something in our story."
