Chicago Fire Season 4 Episode 11 Review: The Path of Destruction

at .  Updated at .

Herrmann's back, but boy was he probably wishing he waited one more day to return to work.

Instead, he ended up on lockdown with the rest of the house on Chicago Fire Season 4 Episode 11 as tornadoes threatened to tear through the city.

The scariest part? They nearly ran out of food, and if they had, Dawson would have had to eat Jimmy.

So, as many of us suspected, this was probably supposed to air before Chicago PD Season 3 Episode 11. The State of the Union threw off the scheduling, causing some confusion over Herrmann being at Molly's.

Though, Mouch mentioning they hadn't set a date yet didn't make sense. It certainly sounded like they were knee deep in wedding planning and already had a vendor, caterer, and florist waiting for deposits.

Herrmann had a rough day back, but Casey came through and knew just what he needed to get his groove back. Herrmann needed a big save, though I have to assume Casey didn't tell him the dad didn't make it.

Regardless, they saved the mom, and that's something.

There were an awful lot of heartfelt moments and conversations going on at the house. It was a little bit of guilt overload. We went from Severide being there for Cruz, to Casey's speech to Herrmann, to Herrmann comforting Mouch. Gotta love seeing these brothers there for each other.

Cruz put in some of his best work. His guilt is eating him up inside and he has no idea how to process it. It is hard to tell if visiting Freddie helped, but so far nothing else had. Freddie didn't tell him anything Herrmann and Severide didn't, but sometimes the person doing the talking matters more than the actual words.

Otis asking Dawson for advice on getting women was hilarious. I loved that Dawson instantly took charge, and Otis looks pretty good without the facial hair. Shaving it at Molly's was a little gross. He could have at least done that in the bathroom. I feel like there has to be a health code violation there somewhere.

Otis: Let's do this. Good-bye friend zone. Hello, end zone!
Dawson: That doesn't make any sense.
Otis: It's like a sports metaphor...for sex.
Dawson: That's why you're not getting any.

Brett is no longer dating Austin. Does that mean there's still hope for Brett and Otis? I don't think we need another in house romance, but I would like Otis to find someone. He deserves it.

I think it is getting to the point where Severide can't meet an attractive woman without something happening between them. If the previews for Chicago Fire Season 4 Episode 12 were any indication, it does not take long before he's hooking up with Agent Ward.

What does that mean for Severide and April? Who really knows with him.

It will be interesting to see how this bomb story line plays out. Will it be an ongoing case throughout the rest of the season?

We finally know what is going on with Chili. I remember my first thought when this whole thing started was maybe she got some bad news, maybe something happened to her sister. But the longer this dragged on, the less I thought that. I really thought she was dealing with a mental disorder by her erratic behavior.

It's weird she didn't tell anyone, but at least now we finally know. I'd like to say maybe that means we can put this story line to rest soon, but that doesn't seem likely after Brett went to Boden. Maybe Dawson will talk to him too, and they can all figure out how to get her some help.

As a fellow Hoosier who has faced many tornado watches and warnings, I simply have to include this:

Otis: Hey, you okay?
Brett: Yeah I'm fine. I'm from Indiana so I've been through my share of tornadoes.

Are you guys satisfied with the Chili reveal? Are you interested to see where the bomb leads?

Chicago Fire Season 4 Episode 11 Quotes

Otis: Hey, you okay?
Brett: Yeah I'm fine. I'm from Indiana so I've been through my share of tornadoes.

Herrmann: So hey, when's the big day buddy?
Mouch: We haven't exactly set a date yet, we don't want to rush into anything.
Herrmann: Yeah of course man, you're young, you've got your whole life ahead of you. Why rush?
Mouch: I see your sense of humor is still intact. That's too bad.
