Taken: NBC Prequel Finds Lead in Clive Standen

at .

NBC's Taken has found its Bryan Mills.

Vikings star Clive Standen has signed on for the straight-to-series movie adaptation in which he'll be playing the character filled by Liam Neeson in the feature film franchise.

The series, written and executive produced by Alex Cary (Homeland), will follow Mills as he develops and sharpens his unique set of skills from which moviegoers are familiar from the films.

Despite the films having already taken place, Taken will be a modern day prequel.

Standen currently stars as Rollo on History's Vikings. He will segue onto Taken after he has completed his obligations on the series, which include filming two 10-episode parts to Vikings Season 4

Apparently there are no plans for Rollo to appear in Vikings Season 5 (a renewal is expected any time) despite word his character is not expected to be killed off.

What do you think of this news? Great news for Taken fans, not so great for Vikings fans?

Have your say!
